What can you say about the fantastic turn around
    at Crystal Palace.

I must admit that I was "in the Clown" camp when
he was at Stoke City, with his long ball game,
    long throwins etc
But the man is a genius.
If Pulis doesn't get Manager of the Season its a disgrace

Definitely deserves Manager of the Season, he was the manager I wanted to replace CH before Palace got their mitts on him, at the time a lot of folk on here disagreed. Imagine how different the rest of our season would have been if DM had got rid of CH last year and got Pulis or Poyet in!

I agree. He has to win it. Especially when you think they looked dead and buried when he took over and he only had the January transfer window to work with. Just imagine how different things could have been for us had our January window been half as successful.

Sorry Fenland, but believe it or not I would still rather be relegated than have Pulis as our manager. There's no denying his talent and while "genius" is bandied around a bit too much what he's done with Crystal Palace justifies that description, but still I wouldn't want us playing that football for the world. I really wouldn't.

    Poyet, perhaps.

I respect your opinion Rob but personally I'd take ugly football and the PL.

i agree. for example, why should peligrini get it with the funds he has?
pouchetino has done well too, but pulis better with the funds avaliable and the position they were in when he took over

    <ok>

I suppose it's easy for me to say now that we are as good as relegated!

On a slightly different note, there are good reasons for sacrificing style to stay in the Prem, if you could guarantee a Stoke-style transformation (which I find pretty impressive, assuming they continue to improve the style of play) after being comfortably in the Prem for a few years, but I just don't believe that can be guaranteed.

A part of me is also bitter because I am pretty positive that if it hadn't been for Pulis at Palace we would not be in a relegation spot!!

Yep, but that would be the same old story of us relying on other teams losing, we need to start building a team that is pro-active, hopefully we can do that in the Championship, unfortunately I don't think Adams could build a squad with that kind of mentality.

Agree Adams is not the long term solution, though I fear we may be a Blackburn if we're not careful...

You're having a laugh there right?

Brendan Rodgers should get Manager of the Season for the excellent work he is doing with Liverpool and the great style of football they are playing. Pulis has done a great job but there are far more deserving of this accolade. <ok>

and no doubt he will, but given the resources that Pulis has at his disposal and the turn around achieved I'd say he deserves it more.

Liverpool are far, far closer in terms of resources to Man City/Chelsea/Man U than Crystal Palace are to Liverpool

Can't stand the people's republic of Liverpool, didn't think I'd laugh any louder after Gerrard's slip. That was until that third goal went in last night ! <laugh>

there's definitely a myth building around rodgers. don't get me wrong, he's done a terrific job and liverpool have played some fine football this season, but he hasn't reinvented the wheel and his defence is an utter shambles, beautifully and hilariously displayed last night in all its glory. they should have won the league with the run in they had yet somehow, despite no distractions, they've blown it. for me, rodgers should be nowhere near the manager of the year award. it should be between pulis, pochetino, and someone who for some reason has not been mentioned at all, mark hughes. now he HAS reinvented a football team in little under 9 months.

Agreed, Hughes has done a terrific job, but I'd still give it to Pulis. <ok>

Re: bad football and the Premier League or good football and relegation, I'd take good football all day long. We've had bad football and the Premier League for the last two years and for me (barring a ten game spell) it's been utter ****.

Not sure if he is either a clown or a genius, but I think it's safe to say he's a bloody good football manager!

Nailed on manager of the year for me, nobody gave Palace a hope in hell when he took over, he's hardly spent any money either (and when he has he has spent it fantastically well - Puncheon, Ledley) and they are a whisker from the top half. What he has achieved there in just a few months is nothing short of extra-ordinary, and whether you like him or not there is no doubting that what he has achieved this year has been incredible.

Also agree that Hughes has done fantastically well at Stoke, as has Pochettino, and another name to chuck in is Steve Bruce who has also far out-stripped pre-season expectations by achieving safety and reaching the FA Cup final. Superb signings as well, hats off to Brucey <ok>

Steve Bruce and Hull surprised me and I have no doubt his choice to bring in experienced Premier League players has worked wonders.

Mark Hughes again I completely agree has been fantastic, he actually tends to do really well and mediocre Premier League teams with modest resources. Whenever a chequebook is granted to him, his old mate Kia is all over it like a rash, that's his downfall overall as a manager.

Pulis should win it for me, he should be given the keys to the club shop at Palace.

All this talk of decent managers is making me feel jealous.

Whilst all this was going on at other clubs we were watching Hughton. Who I think has actually turned out to be worst manager in the PL this season, maybe second to nut job Di-Canio.
