Yeah, the atmosphere's not changed down that way! Sounds like you live near(ish) to the in-laws. I'm happily in the posh Inner Loop
I think Benzema is too similar to Sturridge and not what we would be looking for in a Suarez replacement. We currently have a very good 7 and 9. Wouldnt want to swap that for two very good 9s.
Last summers unrest was caused by Suarez apparent wish to go to Real Madrid yet i never read anything suggesting Madrid wanted him. Now a Madrid taxi driver has mentioned that he has heard mention of a large (future) bid for Suarez by Real. In all honesty where would you guy`s see him playing in the Madrid team, who`s place would he take and would they have to change their game to use him?
No mate, back here unfortunately, loved it there and miss it big time, where do your outlaws live mate?
Look at the 3 idiots about you Gerrez. Acting like £60million is a puny number. Its ****ing huge and would represent a brilliant bit of business. 7 more goals this season has added 20million onto his value.
He's officially the best player in the PL as voted for by both journalists and players, and proven by statistics. The best player in the best league with a new long term contract is worth more than £60m. This is pretty basic stuff
I don't think we'll sell or he'll want to go this year. He'll want to experience the CL at Anfield and after last summer there's no chance he'd kick up a big fuss like he did. The season after I could very well see him going. He'll be 28 and probably only have 3/4 years max at the top and he'll probably want to go to one big club in Spain before he starts to decline. If he can help us secure CL football again next year and win a trophy I'd happily say to hi thanks and goodbye. If we could then get £50-£60m for him after next season would be ideal and we can then invest that in the defence which will probably still be ****
Or, you could look at it in a slightly different way. They genuinely believe we won't sell for that amount. I don't think we would. And, if its added £20m to his value, that makes him a £80m player to us. We wanted £60m last summer!
Nothing Suarez could do would surprise me. To repeat myself again: "Luis Suarez will always be a **** in my eyes but if he stays then he is our ****!"
True, but last year after finishing 7th and being hounded by the press could kind of see why he might want to go. This year, challenging for the league, CL guaranteed and voted player of the year, think he might be very happy here. Only way we'd accept a bid was if it wa too good to turn down (circa £100m) or he does have a release clause which gets met.
When he joined us, he said he wanted to play for Real or Barca one day. He's 27 now and bar actually winning trophies he can't really do much more at Liverpool.
Play in the CL which is why I think he'll stay this year then be off next summer (if either of them want him). If he can have a similar season to this or last year (20+ league goals) plus some decent performances in the CL then we should be able to get £50m-£60m for him given his age which we can invest. Won't hold him any grudges if he does that to be honest and will be glad I got to watch him grace our team for 4 years.
He 's already stated to the press that "nothing will happen" over the Summer and I believe that to be true. I don't see Barca, Real or Bayern offering the kind of money that would entice Liverpool to sell. If they did, who would they ship out so that they could accommodate him in their first 11? After next season then it could well depend on how we do in the both the PL and CL. However, his contract has 4 years on it so he has time to watch transpires. I don't see him staying for life a la Gerrard but another 1-2 years would be good enough for me to be able to say so long and thank you.
I have been saying this for some time Dave, he needs (and probably deserves) to be the main man, in these teams he will not be. The only other teams with the money to afford him are PSG, City and Chelsea, i have not seen enough of PSG to pass comment, he does not defend enough for Chelsea , City i could see him fitting in very well with Aguero and Silva.
