Fully agree MR but from memory mate I seem to remember that Nissan dictated that the Stadium should be East of the A19 so as not to disrupt their networking (not PC's) their infrastructure which is largely based in Washington. Sunderland Council didn't have the balls to stand up to them and they got their way. I'm pretty certain they said they would pull out of the area as a threat the ****ing twats.
Happy days, when I came home from Wales and saw the monument I always thought the same, **** it............... I lived in Peterlee and had missed my turn off
Aye prodded my memory there mate. It should have been pointed out to them that a couple of hours of traffic on a Saturday wasn't going to disrupt **** all. If they had boat loads of cars leaving they could have went on the morning.
Take over bus, metro and rail companies and reroute services to make Sunderland the hub and ensure maintenance work makes it nigh on impossible to get to Sid James Park except by walking. That will do for me.
Sell some of my shares to one of those Arab mushes who have even more money than the Man City blokes for starters, Barca, Man United, Chelsea, Madrid won't know whats hit them when were gerrin messy in the transfer market. I aint one for tradition I would change our owner and board for the lot at Man City without a doubt. move the away supporters to either the SEC or the SWC drop season ticket prices by 5% and include 1st, 2nd and 3rd rounds of both cup competitions in with your season ticket
Absolutely correct, the original plans were supurb, cycle paths, audio for the blind, ease of access, A1 to 19 easy peasy, Nissan and Council at fault.
We dont play in the 1st round though, CC we start in the 2nd round i think, depends on where we finished the year before in the PL and the FA Cup we start in the 3rd round.
Not wanting to sound as if we are related mate but Penshaw Monument means exactly that to me. HOME. When I see it from afar, my heart still skips a beat and I know I am back in Gods land. Spent a lot of time on the hill and the monument as a kid, as my mam is originally form Shiney and I have taken my little princess up it several times and made her aware of its importance to people of County Durham. Its such an iconic symbol and much more a place of home than the Angel (I quite like to Angel as well mind).
PS - only thing that pisses me off and like a lot of you here, is the advantage we hand away supporters by letting them have a full end behind the goal (when they can fill it of course). Put them in the corner or upper corner above the police cells and cordon them off. Only trouble at games these days is when the filth come to town anyway. There could be tempoarary perspex barriers erected for those games and charge them an extra 3 or 4 quid a ticket to pay for it.
you mean poolie? he said 1st 2nd 3rd cup ties, my point was its pointless as we dont play in them, so instead of getting 6 games free, you only get 3 and maybe even 2. which doesnt have the same ring to it tbh.
Sorry Steve my message should've started 'Unless he thinks, Steve, etc. I was meaning that we would have to be in Division 1 to play in the earlier rounds of the competitions. I really should read my messages before I send them but why should I be bored twice <lol>
You mean some posters read what they have wrote before they post?????? Dammit knew I was going wrong somewhere.
