Hows Routledges value doing terrorwit , that 6 straight starts for him since we spoke , but whose counting
I agreed with you he would probably start most of our games remember? Great that he put the ball in the net tonight. For one awful second I thought he was looking to square to Bony! Made the correct decision and got his reward. Hopefully his confidence will grow from here and he will provide a few more goals and several assists to finish the season off nicely....I'm still dreaming of the Europa Cup final me! I reckon his value has been static this season. Probably worth approx. £4-6m.
Nobody could do for Routledge what Laudrup was able to extract from him. A lot of people on other teams boards are shocked at his ability , I imagine a few managers who had him before are also shocked lol

UPDATE - WILFRIED BONY HAS KICKED ARSE. EASILY THE BEST VALUE STRIKER WE COULD HAVE LANDED LAST SUMMER....AND ONLY JUST ABOUT TO TURN 26, HIS NEXT 3 YEARS WILL BE HIS BEST YEARS AND HE IS CONTRACTED TO US FOR THOSE YEARS. WILL TAKE AN AWFUL LOT OF MONEY TO TAKE HIM OFF OUR HANDS! Cardiff City Andreas Cornelius - £8m. - Appearances; 3 starts (8 substitute appearances). Bony is streets ahead as the best buy of the season by anyone and im so glad it has worked out for us but look at the others and you can see they have lost millions on their players and that is a major factor that you have got to be very prudent when paying out millions for a player and put him on really good wages and a long contract because if it don't work out then it will cost a a club a fortune. This is Huws point in a nut shell and i have to agree with him on this...
If anything it supports the argument that you need to spend more than £8 million for a Premiership striker. All of the others bar 2 cost that much and their return has been poor. As has been said on other threads pay peanuts get monkeys. Granted Osvaldo and Carroll are the exception but in Carrols case everyone knew his price was inflated after 1 decent season for Newcastle and Liverpool paid way over the odds. The cut price fee that West Ham paid is only so high because of the previously inflated price. If there was even 1 player in amongst those that cost 8mill and gave a good return I would agree that there are cheap deals to be made out there. I am sure that HJ knows this when discussing expenditure on key positions like strikers. At this level you can spend £12mill for a striker and still consider this to be prudent rather than a gamble. Connor Wickham is a great case in point. Championship striker that cost £8mill from Ipswich. An inform striker at that level but failed to deliver under 3 consecutive managers at Sunderland. Loaned back out, found form back in the Championship and is now doing it in the Premiership (Poyet having a lot to do with this obviously)) and already being touted as worth £12mill.
Agree with that post bap666 ........ also , Bony's value goes well beyond goals ,hes a master at set pieces , hes a target man amongst target men , apparently hes great in dressing room , so respectful to everyone on the pitch , an all around gentleman .I hope he stays but the wolves of the Premier will be hunting our greatest player imo and really , who could blame them.
Wickam still has it to prove for me. Appreciate that he's got some high profile goals recently but that doesn't mean to say that he's going to kick on and become a consistent goalscorer in the mould of Bony and others. I'll be interested to see how he does next season.
Wickham has yet to prove consistency imo. May do so in future, who knows? The big question I suppose is will Bony be able to do it again next season when he's more heavily marked? The second question is will Michu ever be able to replicate that stunning first season? Assuming both are with us of course.
Thats my point. Another striker that cost around the £8mill mark and couldnt do it in the Premiership at that time (2011). It has taken 4 managers and another 2 stints on loan before showing glimpses of being able to do it in the Premiership. £8mill no matter how good they appear in other leagues vary rarely equates to a good value for money buy for a striker in this league.
Bony will contiue to grow in the PL, with us or without us. If he went to Chelski could be the next Drogba.
Actually , imo , Bony cant improve in the Premier League if he leaves . Perfect fit , Bony and Swansea. A big team wont let him play as much or as fluent as us .Best all round if he stays , he just has to ask anyone who left .
