Hang on, we're not talking about a manager's style. If we were I would agree with you, managers take their style with them from club to club. We're talking about a club's style. FACT.
Exactly and Man U have always been known to give youth players a chance and playing in an attacking style.
Eh?!?! What do you mean 'exactly? I disagreed with you!! How did Ferguson for his first decade give youth players a chance? As I said, he spent more then than any manager in history. Theyve had 2 periods of being known for youth players and both were exceptional circumstances.
Fergie gave loads of youth players a chance. I'd go and look it up if i were you. whether they turned in to world beaters is a different matter. Beardsmore Martin billy Garton
Oh ****, of course. I forgot about him because I was focusing on PLT's point of 20 goals a season. Campbell and Deano then, although I think Campbell was appreciated more because of his talent and potential whereas Deano was appreciated on a more sentimental level and the winner at Wembley. I think we all knew he wouldn't get much game time in the Premier League. A lot of people wanted us to sign Campbell permanently though after the promotion season.
The Hull style is a no nonsense approach, we don't suffer fools gladly, or show ponies, divers, cheats, con men, big heads, or anyone who teks (Hull speak) the piss out of us. We were **** for years, we knew that even at the time, but it was our ****, and we don't tek too kindly to been told how **** we were because we were still Hull. Hull is a proud working class city were nothing comes easy. We don't earn big money and when we had the chance too during the Deep Sea Fishing days we were still classed as 'casual labour' To be lost at sea meant your next of kin received £6.50p a week for eight weeks. Over 6,000 men lost their lives sailing out of this Port over the years. Imagine that if that if those men had sailed out of Liverpool. And that sums Hull up, we get on with it. We don't expect nowt for nowt and we earn what we get. That is reflected in our football teams. Hope that helps.
We'll have to agree to disagree on ***an. Overrated to the extreme. How he played so many games for us at the level he did is baffling to me - although we ended up going down so I suppose it makes sense - lower level championship - league 1 abilities for mine...
1. You're probably wasting your money on this degree. 2. It's May, what the **** are you playing at doing research. 3. I agree with BCC. Back to 1 again, seriously what sort of bullshit degree is this? "Football study"? Get to ****, we have BTECs and NVQs for bollocks like this. No wonder university fees are going up and up if money is being spunked up the wall on **** like this.
We have the 'Alex Bruce can only pass to the keeper' method of playing which is quite distinctive. Questionable in it's effectiveness, but distinctive nonetheless.
What about Elmo? Good player for us, and respected for that, but he's also one of the most embarrassing ****s in the game these days with his diving antics.
I don't know, he ran around a lot & the old headless chicken was aimed at him most of his time with us, but when he played well, he was brilliant. I remember that game at Newcastle when he was outstanding until that twat Guthrie took him out & broke his leg.
