Could someone explain why there is a lack of patience with CH.

What I look for as a fan are

    1. I want to see youth products brought through to the first team
    2. Someone who tries
    3. Someone with a bit of flair and creativity

For me CH has all of these attributes.

Granted at times he is a bit lightweight and can lose the ball a bit softly, but last night when he got the ball he was surrounded by 2/3 players. He is willing to take on a few players and as proved last night he can finish. He is still only young and this is his first full season playing regularly in the first team. Also, what are the alternatives on the left? So why the groans when he does something wrong? I was glad he got a nice round of applause as he went off.

Me personally, if he applied himself as much as he has in the last 2 games then he will progress in to a decent Championship player. But too many times this season he has allowed himself to get lost in the match.

If you consider how much better he already is than Scott Wagstaff then you're right, the stick he gets is incredible.

Sometimes he lets himself down with poor decision making but he has enough raw talent to persevere with!

I am delighted CH played so well last night, hopefully that performance can be a bit of a watershed game for him.

What has frustrated me this season with Harriott is how many times he has flattered to decieve, got the ball in threatening areas and had a heavy touch or slipped over or even sliced the ball out for corner in his own penalty box under no real pressure. He is perhaps a victim of his own success given the way he burst onto the scene towards the end of last season. It is clear he has suffered with a lack of confidence this season right up until the moment he scored the first goal last night, and he does let his head go down easily when he makes a mistake.

That said as your rightly point out Fruitbat, he does have flair and creativity in his locker which is something we have been crying out for this season. I also like the effort he puts in to get back and attone for mitakes he makes and that is something that will always buy him time with the fans when he is going through a period of low confidence.

I do not like to see the fans get on the back of any player, particularly a young one who confidence is fragile. I think the fans frustrations are born from knowing what he is capable of, that on his day he can provide exactly what this team has been missing all season but hasnt done it consistently enough. In terms of consistency he has also been surpassed by both Cousins and Poyet this season which makes it look like CH has gone backwards in his development.

CH will take great confidence from last night and hopefully he takes that into next season because he could be a real asset.

    Excellent assessment, TA. <applause>

The pressure was on Callum after he ended last season on a high. It's a shame he has hit his stride just as the current campaign is ending, but with some solid coaching and nurturing he can look forward to a bright future.

Personally, I would like to see him playing up front with a big-man. He can find a yard of space and finish with a wicked shot, so why not?

Ever since Harriott stepped up from the U-21's he's had problems adjusting to the better defenders, hopefully he's managing that now.

The raw talent is there with CH, but he needs to be careful that he doesn't need to turn into another Lloyd Sam. I recall Martin O'Neill's comments when manager of Villa, and a youngster came in wanting to wear luminous boots. "You will have to be some player before you wear those". The same applies to Harriott. He hasn't helped himself with some poor comments on Twitter. What is "Cally Messi" all about? Despite last night, he still needs some coaching on his decision making and final ball.

It's a cunning disguise. It was either that, or dress in a Robin Hood costume.

Or Mr Bean, considering your uncanny likeness to Rowan Atkinson...

Callum Harriott is my favorite player he works hard runs his socks off entertaining .
Play him wide left not right and he can destroy full backs and will only get better .
And he's a Norbury boy was well pleased for him last night .

I think the problem with Harriott is that he reminds a lot of fans of Lloyd Sam... i.e. the step overs and not going anywhere - Too often this happens, at the end of the day he has raw pace to burn and could easily outrun a lot of Full-Backs if he had the confidence
