....Or so Jose's former understrapper Brendan Rodgers says! Personally, I can understand his disappointment when he clearly had all the champagne on ice, ready to celebrate the PL title! However, he clearly seemed to have forgotten that Jose was still keen to do whatever was necessary to bag the 3 points and still have one foot in the door for the title! This he did, with a reserve team, playing the perfect game which was, unfortunately for Brendan ,not to play "pretty" football! Jose Mourhino--Manager of the Year I'd say!
Old brenguns boys were firing blanks yesterday to hungover there end of season title party heck they've practically had the trophy parade through the city already.
I thought Mourinho is mad about this old era kind of playing style? Very childish of him. http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/25956108
I've no doubt the two managers are good buddies, but the fans expect their manager to be as partisan as they are, to say the things they want to hear. Rodgers has done a fantastic job at Liverpool. His post match words would have had a good impact on his team, which had just suffered a blow which may have lost them the title. He needs them to stay upbeat and win the last two games. Basically he was saying look guys you were great, they were the bad guys, you were unlucky, I want you all to keep on playing like that. Any other manager worth their salt would say the same and not take these post match comments by others to heart. I'm sure Jose doesn't. As fans of the other team we often believe that anything said is for our consumption alone, which is fairly egotistical.
Very good one by Rogers who has not lost his sense of humour. Maybe Billy Connolly is advising him ??
BR has well and truly spat his dummy out. The best managers are those who have a plan B, or C, or even further. You don't have any right to win a game just because you "play the right way". They will continue to lose games like that if he continues to be naive and not have a Plan B. Jose tactically outclassed him, he just won't admit it.
If it's so easy to play defensively, why don't Stoke and West Ham win the league? Everyone goes on about BR being class and all that, that's see how class he is when the expectation is there next year and a few results or decisions go against him. Easy to be graceful when there is no pressure or expectation. Next year there will be.
Shearer brought up a good point in MotD on Sunday, that Brendan Rodgers is going to have to adapt to teams playing defensively because the more you win, the more teams will sit back against you.
Plus we've shown a away of negating their style. Wont work every week and not everyone has the personnel to do it, but more teams will adopt our tactics at Anfield now.
We've already had it, you arent the first to come to our place and defend for Gods sake. Its just others dont do it as well, Jose is definitely an ex bus driver Joke obv, he's defensive against bigger teams away but it can get results Thanks for ruining my weekend anyway you arsewipes
It was a rant, a bitter one at that My particular highlight was this gem I'm sure he will Brendan 20 pots to your play off final win and sacking at Reading.......but of course you know better. He followed it with this corker; From the manager of the side who didn't give the ball back after Chelsea kicked it out of play for an injured player to get treatment, dead sporting that.
