St Moritz 12/1

A horse best caught fresh, if the red hot David O'Meara has sweetened this 8 year old up during the off season then I think he could be a very difficult horse to beat off a mark of 78. Twice a winner on his seasonal reappearance, joined the excellent O'Meara outfit from Dandy Nicholls last July and although pretty subdued in 5 runs for his new stablle his handicap mark subsequently plummeted from a mark of 92 to a career low mark of 78 and if the break has reinvigorated this classy sort then a massive run must be on the cards. With the superb Danny Tudhope in the saddle, a lovely draw in stall 13 and the yard firing in winners, St Moritz is potentially chucked in off his current mark and although he could simply be a horse whose potential is waning in his advancing years I think 12/1 looks a fantastic price.
 
I am going to Sandown tomorrow and will be meeting "The Don" so I need good tips as he is very hit and miss.............
BARADARI 9/1 in the first, on already and that will hopefully stand me in good stead for a fair day!
 
Tentative bets in tomorrow's big race of the day, bet365 Gold Cup - Cheltenham Festival winner Spring Heeled trained by Jim Culloty, and Midnight Appeal trained by Alan King, who fell last time out in the Scottish National and has won over fences at Sandown. Opening Batsman won last season's Racing Plus Chase but his form figures since then is PPF05, wears first time blinkers so needs them to sharpen him up.
 
Hard to take on Southfield Theatre tomorrow isn't it? Genuine grade one horse. Grand National winner. Unlucky Scottish National third. That's three of the front four from Cheltenham's Pertemps Is there really any strong reason why Southfield Theatre won't run a stormer tomorrow? I can't see it. Tough race though and he gives weight to a good Hendo horse. At 2/1 I'm siding with the Pertemps. I've had a 20/1 winner and a 14/1 place by sticking with that form so there's no reason to desert it now.
 
Just the one bet for me tomorrow folks.....

Sandown 3.50pm Poungach 20/1 E.W 5 places. Seems on a good mark to me and ran well over the extended distance last time out. On his only previous race at Sandown he won a competitive 19 runner hurdle race. At 20/1 he represents each way value and I am on !!

The stats show that the Bet365 Gold Cup is a notoriously bad race for favourite backers!
 
Evening all - anyone expect Noble Mission to win by 9 lengths today - didn't see that one coming !! Big brother would be proud :) - I expect to see Same Difference run a huge race in the the Whitbread tomorrow , lightly raced and 10s at present with £3.65 (sorry 365 ). Wooly any PWISE yet mate ?
 
Just passing on that I have been told an unraced horse of Roger Varian running tomorrow is pretty special. There are no bookmakers offering prices at present but the race certainly has depth to it, so hopefully a reasonable price will be available. She is expected to need further than tomorrows trip but with the soft going her stamina could come into play as she will definitely have no trouble getting a mile, even in soft going.

I am sure that as she is only having her first run and the going is likely to be soft she is not likely to have her long term potential put in jeopardy just to win this race, but whatever the horse does tomorrow she is definitely worth making a note of and following.

3.50 Sandown- Carruthers- 25/1

One fact that amazed me has never run at sandown before, a course that his bold,front running tactics he should relish it. Now rated 148, he won the Hennessy off 146, the West Wales National off 147 and Nico de Boinville, whom he gets on well with, takes off a vital 3lb. He unseated his rider at Aintree lto right at the start but it would be a blessing in disguise as he comes to this fresher than most and altho there may be a younger horse on the up at 25/1 he is definitely too big of a price

Will be Ruby Walsh's first ride since breaking his arm at the Cheltenham Festival. Hope he wins. Wish I could watch the race live somewhere, Gemix made up 15 lengths after jumping the second last and so nearly won!

I was just in the process of doing a small favourites acca. I had 5 horses picked out, was just about to add a sixth until I realised it was called "just five". Think its trying to tell me something :-)

Serious money for FAURE ISLAND in to 2's, 6-1 was available. Henry Candy has his string in great order at the moment and when that is the case you can just about back them blind. Very underrated trainer. Well done and thanks for flagging this up early Boris.
 
Angel Gabrial @ 14/1 3.30 Ripon

Bought by Dr Koukash last month with the intention of getting him into the Chester Cup, Angel Gabrial a 20/1 shot at the moment is unlikely to get in off his current lenient mark of 88, he was expected to win over 14 furlongs last week, but he hit the front to soon and faded into 4th close home. Having his first run over 2 miles here, connections say he is going to be ridden for a late run today which should see an improved performance.
