I pulled you up for saying that people from abroad are plastics or those that don't sing.I'm talking about those who say they're going to stop supporting the team because of our lack of success.

My main gripe is still with those who refuse to sing. The majority of our chants are family friendly, so that's no excuse for parents etc. If you're going to a football match, at least make an effort. And for those who won't sing because of nerves, just take my approach and get absolutely slaughtered before kickoff.

It's only natural that people will leave because of a lack of success, people only have a limited amount of patience, so i'll give some of those a benefit of the doubt, not everyone is into mentally torturing themselves over a football team.

It sounds perfectly fine to me. It'll give those kids some character, so they don't grow up to be spineless wimps.

There's a difference between "scum" and "overenthusiastic"

Scummy parents are the sort who beat their kids up, novel chants at a football match are hardly too bad in the parenting scale.

When they grow up, they'll be surrounded by swearing all the time, from people who weren't raised so well, getting used to the odd bit at a football game will serve them well in later life, won't be so touchy if say some idiot accidentally bangs into a carriage door on a train (like the ones you get on the big purple train to London), accidentally swears and gets tutted at. They won't tut if they're used to it.

What they say as adults is up to them, what they say as children is the responsibility of whoevers looking after them.

Really? Interesting. I've tried to teach my kids to use language appropriately. I've said **** a few times in front of them.

I dislike use of **** indiscriminately, but I think it has its uses.

Totally agree with you, there is no place for swearing in the home or in general use. Why do you need to swear anyway? All it shows is how little control you have as a person that you can't regulate your behavior. Of course we've all got angry at times and sworn, but there is nothing admirable about it. I don't swear at home or in front of the parents. When I have children I will definitely try not to swear and if I do, I would be quite ashamed of myself.
