So this deal was started by a manager who has now been sacked and will be finished with no manager

Good planning Utd, good planning

Better hope whatever manager you hire is a fan of fullbacks who only cross <ok>

Because Roman Abramovich never bought anyone without consulting the manager <whistle>

Yeah cos every left back Southampton develop will inevitably turn into the worlds most expensive footballer.

You need a day off.....;)

Not saying that, just saying we've learnt our lesson when it comes to being reluctant to part with cash, when it comes to exciting young prospects. I think it's fairly obvious that Shaw will be at the very least one of the PLs best left backs. Even this season at only 18, he would come into the reckoning for best PL left back. I bet he's in a lot of peoples teams of the season:biggrin:

And boy did rival fans never shut up about it. Is this the United way now, copying our blueprint?

Sacking managers early, over spending on players, parking the bus in Europe, trying to get Jose, buying Mata. You'll be wearing blue soon.

They are copying us...#thenewunitedway

Amazing how they have given up on the United Way and their principles after just six poor months

Exactly. This season has proven very quickly that United are just another club and their days of taking the high ground and lording it over the rest of us are well are truly over.

Manager sacked in less than a year...#thenewunitedway

Our money is money the club earns though, that's why it's completely different

Don't you have just under £400m in debt? How about paying that off before you spunk £200m in the transfer windows to buy yourself out of trouble?

We where interested in Bale, but we didn't want to pay the money that you guys where prepared to pay. As we where unsure about him, which was a big mistake. I'm not saying he'd of chosen us over you guys, I'm just saying we didn't give him the option

Come on, it was a rare one we got right, let us bask in it

Yes it is a lot, but we'd have to pay an older left back like Coentrao more than that anyways, and Luke Shaw is near enough as good as him now, and will be a lot better than him once he hits his prime. I recall the last time we allowed Spurs to get a young left back from Southampton, what a costly mistake that was. You guys are just rattled because now FFP has come in, we're going to be the biggest fish in the transfer market for the foreseeable future. You best get used to it
Lots of kids who looked like worldbeaters at 18 were no better at 20. He"s at least 2 seasons from anyone knowing if he's the real deal, though he does look it. He wouldn't be getting 100 Gs from any Team I owned.
