'The Club would like to place on record its thanks for the hard work, honesty and integrity he brought to the role'
It was never going to happen Eric. Van gaal is fine by me, a manager who will modernise our play, promote youth, play great football and win things. Whats not to like? He will even show rooney his balls as punishment. Its his age isnt it. And the fact he didnt ponder to barcelonas egos.
I think we should go all out for Klopp. Van Gaal would be too short term and I'm not particularly a fan of the bloke to be honest.
Like Ruff said yesterday, as long as the new manager doesn't come out with **** like we aspire to be as good as City or says Liverpool are favourites to win at Old Trafford. Moyes used the words 'try' and 'hope' far too much at United.
My concern over appointing van gaal would be his involvement with the Dutch squad. Surely this will hinder our transfer options unless of course this has been on the cards for some time.
I don't doubt that he is a quality manager, the only concern I have is has he got time to get the players in that we need? Will he have time to assess the squad or has been observing with a view to taking over for some time.
Hopefully the players will be more up for the Norwich game on Saturday then will revert to type for the Sunderland game a week later!!! PLEASE!!!! Sorry - I like Utd - always have, just really want to stay in the premier league this season!!
Good to see your facing up to reality - season after season of wandering in the wilderness waiting for the right one to become available but finding yet more feet of clay.
This is the crux, do those players who think they've now got shot of Moyes really think they'll have it just how they like it with van Gaal? Will they ****, he will ditch most of them. He's NOT the man. No good will come of this, at all. United need to advertise the job and interview candidates, not just appoint the next bloke who seems a good idea.
What a **** morning this is turning out to be. Back at work, raining and Moyes has been sacked #gutted
I could definitely see Rooney being shown the door if we get Van Gaal, he will not tolerate player power whatsoever. He's known to be fairly ruthless, and not frightened of upsetting anyone. Problem is we allowed Moyes to put him on a 300k a week contract, so not many sides will want him if they have to pay those wages
