Many reports linking us with a number of players mostly surrounding Steve Bruce's preference for players who were with him when he Managed other Clubs. Others, like Ryan Bertrand who is on some 35 grand per week are, I believe, outside of our 'war-chest' funds as well as Mica Richards. I have never really rated Max Gradel at this level but that's just my opinion and I couldn't see him in Black and Amber. If Sunderland's current 'on-loan' left back, Marcos Alonso, is available nest season I think we could get him either on a season long loan or permanently. Pretty reasonable fee/wages and well within our budget. Other Sunderland players who would be available at then end of this season are Jack Colback and Seb Larsson who (according to some media reports) are high on Steve Bruce's radar. Either are more capable than Koren (imo) who is out of contract at the end of this season. Scot Sinclair (a player I was impressed with early in his career but seems to have gone 'off the boil' recently) will be available but he and his girlfriend (Helen Flanagan who played Rosie Webster in Coronation Street) are building a house just outside London and are planning a family shortly so I couldn't see him coming to us. Kieron Richardson and Steve Naismith are also said to be on the radar. That bloke who scored 15 goals for us in the Championship during our first successful foray into the Premier League might also make a return to the KC - don't laugh! Whereas I believe that Harper and Fryatt will get an extension to their contracts I think Koren and Faye will be let go and Proschwitz offered on a 'jumble-sale' deal to anyone.
Much of this of course will be dependant on whether the club is being run for the benefit of the club, or the benefit of the investors. Also whether Steve Bruce gets an offer in the summer that is too good for him to turn down.
One of the spin offs from COC etc is that at long last we may get some houses up here instead of the caves, treehouses, lean to's, gypsy caravans we all live in around here. Admittedly child care, creches, nurseries, play groups and medical care for the under 5s have yet to reach here, so they maybe well advised not to risk it.
You hear wrong. Very wrong. Tony Pulis has been mentioned but why would anyone in a good job want to work for Mike Ashley ?
Not a rumour as such but just seen on BBC that Victor Moses is going back to Chelski after his marginally successful loan to Liverpool. Jose doesn't seem to fancy him. Looking at £8+ for a perm but might he be in our price range for a season long loan? Him on the right and a fully firing Brady on the left, Long and Jela would be quids in.
I don't know why but I also fear SB to Newcastle to be the biggest threat to our remarkable transformation. Any evidence they're sniffing?
What is it with all these Sunderland players? Apart from the LB (Alonso) the rest I wouldn't touch with a barge pole. Many seem to be forgetting that the players we would be after have just done their best job of sending Sunderland down. Bruce may have made a mistake at signing them whilst he was at Sunderland and I have a funny feeling Brucie will be saying to himself "stay well away". He ain't daft is Brucie, if there is a bargain to be had then fair enough. We may be in Europe next year and I think with the current squad we have it would be much easier to attract better players, better than seb lars, colback and what not. In bruce we believe.
As a low prem club, we need to take 'misfits' and other sorts with potential. Look at Davies, no other teams had take a punt on him after his problems. He's arguably our best player now.
