Cutting away the frustration of yet another missed opportunity and a return to PJ style result (Be dominant but fall apart and lose the game), I think we've learnt a few things:
Negatives:
- Still struggle to really take our chances from open play when they come.
- We're very susceptible to counter attacks when pushing the game.
- A seeming lack of big game mentality - On national radio, and featured game on FLS, with a chance to go sixth, attracting a huge following - how predictable was a loss?
Positives:
- We were only a centimetre away from taking the lead - we do have the ability to play attacking football.
- Wordsworth has got a goal, should do his confidence a world of good (despite the liklihood of him being rested for B'mth)
-
Other lesson.
We need a real trusted and energetic danger man from the bench and change the game - in contrast to what i said earlier in the season i think this should be Nouble for now.
Bringing on Paul Green as a substitute to shore up the midfield isnt very effective.
We may aswell not bother playing Watford.
Above all we're still one game away from 6th with a relatively 'easy' final game.
