Usually Davies Headband does this but he's probably on the coach coming back so I'll get the thread going this time. Obviously a game of two halves but two factors seem to have turned things around and gave us one of the most inspiring second half performances ever by City...first Davies dressing room lambasting of the first half performance at HT complete with 4-letter words and naming individual names (as reported by SB)...and secondly Brucies great substitutions which turned a shambles into an attacking explosion. So for me... Davies - Captain Fantastic for his HT harangue which woke them up as well as his, as usual, solid defence. Thudd - opened them up like a can of sardines in 2H and scored a brilliant goal to put us in the lead Livermore/Meyler...great runs to set up goals by Jake...non-stop effort and coup de grace goal by DM. Honorable mentions...Rosie, Elmo, Matty, Sagbo, Chessie, Harps.
Meyler by a country mile. He has impressed me so much this season, has developed into arguably our most consistent player and always full of energy. Livermore Huddlestone
Davies - other than his magnificent rallying call at HT and usual solid display, his attempt at covering for (another) inept 'performance' from Figgy, really how poor was he today?! Aluko - For making the difference when he came on, the Blunts look frightened to death of him! Meyler - for his usual all action display, and, fittingly, for scoring the goal that finally killed the game off (you what Sunderland, you'd rather have Cattermole? Lol)
In any order and with Elmo thrown in; his contribution is understated and extremely professional. But if I must name a MOM, it has to be Huddlestone - his composure on the ball kept us in the game and his goal reminded his team-mates we are a Premier League team.
Meyler Livermore Huddlestone but I don't ****ing know how to leave out Super Matt, Captain Marvel, Saggers, Aluko, Steve Bruce, Johnny Eyre the fans and the 84 year old who went in 1930.. pissed and happy..
Huddlestone Aluko Fryatt Huddlestone was the best player on the pitch by a country mile, dictated the pace for the entire second half, one of his best performances in a City shirt. The other two simply because they changed the game, gave the midfield the runs that were lacking in the first half, completely changed how we attacked.
Meyler Huddlestone Livermore. special mention for Fryatt, Akuko, Davies, Chester, I thought they all had good games.
Huddlestone Livermore Davies - Not an exceptional defensive game from him but with team talks like that he could be a great manager one day
