Kingman is the big interest this weekend on the flat scene but I'm intrigued to see how Bolgers impressive maiden winner,Answered, fares tomorrow upped in class in the Ballysax Stakes against a couple of AO'B Classic hopefuls.

Watching brief only though...currently having a perusal of the Spring Cup.Prefer these big h'caps on a round course where the draw, whilst very important, isn't such a critical variable...anybody any thoughts on this nightmare?

Dex, the eyecatching thing for me re tomorrow’s Newbury Spring Cup is that’s its very rare for a Sir Michael trained animal to creep into such a handicap at the very foot of the weights. Plus the said filly, ENOBLED, is very well bred as the dam was a dual Group 1 winner. Also, given her breeding I wouldn’t have thought connections would have kept her in training if they thought she wasn’t much better than her current perch of 86. Could potentially be very well treated, methinks.

A large salad with rocket, mixed greens, peppers, tuna, feta cheese and pumpkin seeds drizzled with virgin olive oil and balsamico. A small bowl of carrot soup and a portion of fries. Pink grapefruit drink. 8/10.

Lads, I'm well aware of how good Atletico are and their home ground but out of the three teams in that draw Chelsea have got the best possible result. Home leg last against a bunch of players with very limited Champions League experience. Especially at such a late stage.

The other options being Bayern, possibly the best team in Europe with the strongest squad, best keeper, very deep midfield and goals everywhere. Or Real, who have the best player in the world in their team.

You both have valid opinions but mine is 100% that if Chelsea could have picked their draw it would have been the inexperienced Atletico with the home leg last.

    Whoooosh Kasb!

Most unusual to see some much ground made up over 5f...liked that a lot and trained by Gosden so only half cocked.

I think Atlético,Chelsea and Bayern will all be reasonably content.

Pep knows Real inside out and the last thing he wanted was to play another "bus parking" team from the Premiership. He'll fancy going toe to toe with RM who always give you chances and would back his team to beat anyone frankly. This could be a classic tie.

Real would have preferred Chelsea of all the sides.

Atlético won the Europa League two years ago with a lot of this squad and experience shouldn't be a problem. They are full of goals, have the best defence in La Liga and have the best young manager in Europe.Chelsea don't have the same attacking options but are very solid at the back and above all they have Mou...that counts for a lot.

This will be a tight tie and Chelsea's game plan, whilst very predictable, isn't easy to counteract.

I still think that Atlético may just have too much quality for Chelsea..especially if Eden Hazard hasn't fully recovered.

Wouldn't bet on it mind you!

From another perspective Bobster it would have been the draw Atletico wanted too! Is it all set up for Mourinho to face Real in the final? ..I certainly hope not, Chelsea are painful when playing against a team better than themselves but can't fault them for doing what they have to to win. Hope the two semi's are a good advert for the game.

Have to agree with Oddy, Cyc, Bayern do look vulnerable at the moment. Took them some 150 minutes out of the 2-leg 180 minutes to break down ManU, and you know what sort of Premier League season they've had. Thought Phil Jones was just about MOTM, the way he shut-out Ribéry for much of the game. ****ing old cripple Robben can still play a bit though. Walks as though he has a problem with his nuts?

Since everyone is having a go at the 5.25 at Ayr I'm going to have a few quid e/w on Howizee @ 15/2

Won this two years ago and fished second last year off 123.He races off 122 this afternoon plus the in form Daragh Bourke takes off another 7lb's.Ground is fine for him and looks as though he has been laid out for this.Should place at least.

Over at Wexford I'm going to have a small dabble in the 5.50 on Seven Acres e/w @ 20/1 with 4 places on offer.

His future will lie over fences but he has hinted at ability over timber and is upped to 3m for the first time.Dropped 2lb's to a mark of 88 he could easily get involved in this moderate contest.

i havent seen much of the flat season so far but every race I see seems to be being won by a Gosden runner.
His stable appears to be bang in form.
