Racing comes from Newbury, Ayr, Fontwell, Wolverhampton and over the Irish Sea at Wexford.

3 from alerts tomorrow,

14.30 Newbury- Java Rose- 9/1

Initially looking at this race I couldn't get away from Leo Luna but can't go away from my alert tomorrow as I had missed him in 1st glances anyway and at a much bigger price. Was back to form when winning on the AW in January and has run some very good races when runner up in flat and over hurdles so will be race fit for tomorrow and has the cheek pieces refitted. Also if Stick can give some more insight if knows anymore will be much obliged.

17.25 Ayr- Dundee- 8/1

Put him in my to follow after some very promising novice races and when second at Aintree in December in a fairly hot handicap. Then had a fewer poor runs but bounced back when second in a but field at Newbury over 3m lto so the trip won't be a problem at all and fancy him to strike gold finally tomorrow.


20.05 Wolverhampton- Katja - No Price Yet

Best effort so far when second in a 5f maiden at Lingfield in February and lto had strong support when second in a handicap lto at the track and now back to Maiden company should be bake to get his head in front
 
The 2 most interesting races for me are the last 2 at Newbury. Some nicely bred fillies. This is what I like about the flat; I find the pedigrees so intriguing.
 
The maiden at Newbury tomorrow should be informative. The Paco Kid is well thought of by Olly, horses that beat him will be very good. Heard that Hills horse is really nice.
 
PROBLEMA TIC 5.25 Ayr 16-1 has had the Pipe treatment and the money coming now he races off a tidy mark. Yard won the race last year and this fella has won round here too. One to note surely!
 
Old fav of mine, Fruity O' Rooney @ 8/1, Fontwell 3.25 must have a decent chance tomorrow. Won this race last year and despite an uncharacteristic unseat lto, previous runs have shown he still retains plenty of ability and a zest for racing. Indeed he caused a fair amount of carnage running loose here last time. He receives weight off all bar one of his rivals and I'm sure he'll put up a bold showing. Good luck all having a punt.

Morning, pinstickers. Hope everyone well. Really interesting racing today from so many angles and it’s the sort of day that if you can string a few winners together in a multiple then you are going to do very, very well as I would imagine more than the odd big priced one will pop up. Anyway, I’ll nominate one of my old faves. He’s trained by the forum’s favourite trainer, Mr Henderson and owned by the forum’s 2nd favourite owner, Mr Ponsonby:

Lieutenant Miller (5.25 Ayr) – very decent performer who in recent seasons has done really well winning 4 races and being placed at both Royal Ascot and ‘Glorious’ Goodwood. Is rated 93 on the level but gets into this handicap over timber off a rather lenient looking 121. In this NH sphere so far this term Lieutenant Miller has proved himself more than capable with a pair of respectable 4th placed finishes in very decent affairs at Cheltenham and Aintree. Sure to appreciate this step up to 3 miles today I think he will take quite a lot of beating. The Geraghty boy gets on him incidentally for the first time in almost 3 and half years today. Meanwhile, 7/2 is a very attractive price, re Lieutenant Miller, to this correspondents eye.

Ma Filleule has been raised a whopping 13 pounds for her Aintree romp last week. She is now perched on 163. It would appear that Mr Henderson may have little option but to train her for the Cheltenham Gold Cup from here on in. Given her current rate of improvement such talk may not prove unfounded and don’t forget, troops, she’d receive the 7 lbs mare allowance.

That would appear likely Barney.

She is only six but has plenty of miles on the clock and is probably nearing her peak like a lot of the French imports.

She has had five more career runs than the 9-y-o Bobs Worth,four more than the Gold Cup winner and the same number as the 10-y-o Gold Cup runner up.
 
I wonder if we have a future star approaching in the last at Newbury. Bred to win a Derby.

Goes well ron did 12f in good time on the aw andthat was 28 days ago I think plus 9lb lighter than that run

Anyone like anything this weekend?!? I’m really looking forward to seeing old boy Gosden’s Kingman, in the Greenham, and Mr Henderson’s Sir Charles in the ‘lucky last’ at Ayr tomorrow. Potentially future Champions both.

Intriguing quest of the weekend though must be can My Tent concede stacks of weight to some very good horses in the Scottish version of the ‘Champion Hurdle’. Hope he does so, team, but I tell you what to do so I believe My Tent will have to better his Champion Hurdle performance. Cor blimey he’s conceding up to 20 pounds to some very,and I do mean very, good animals.

Have to disagree Bob - Atletico are the strongest team left in it for me. Real Madrid were on the rack against Dortmund and scraped through by the skin of their teeth, and Bayern look strangely vulnerable at the moment.

<doh> Vicente Calderon is only the hardest place to go in Europe just now, no one wanted Atletico.

Means now the final is guaranteed to be a clash of styles, the two football teams in one semi and the two fighters in the other. I have a bet with my m8 Germany against Spain to win the Champs league so I should want Chelsea but you have to love the heart of this Atletico Madrid team, they are something else, they deserve to be in the final more than anyone else.
