Where are you going from? If it's Cornwall then neither.

Sheff U coaches are being sent down the M1 and ours the A1

So if you want some friendly banter at motorway services with our opponents fans from South Yorkshire then chose the M1.

But you may need to take an interpreter....

A1 is much quicker at the moment. The road works from M18 to Junc 28 -M1 are shocking.

A1 is a little slower if you get a clear run on the M1 - but as the poster above says, that's a big if. A1 gives you a more reliable journey time and more exit opportunities if there's a problem.

If i was everyone on here i would go M1 because if you all do then it will be quieter for me on the A1. Enjoy

The M1 sucks. The A1 sucks less.

M1 then across to the M40 - brings you straight to Wembley or many stations on the Chiltern Line with direct quick access and easy parking - no need to drive in London.

If people do come down the M1, I'd definitely recommend this, as it avoids the nightmare around Northampton, Luton etc. You can either take the M69 and then the A46 past Coventry, or leave the M1 earlier and take a slightly bigger detour down the M42.

All depends how the M1 is likely to be between 23A and 21. If it looks OK, I'd stay on until 21 and go M69.

A1 have much better songs. And they are doing that Big reunion thing on the tv. I like that.

Anyone who's anyone will have chartered a private jet for this.

As it is, I'll be trundling down the A1.

As someone who lives smack bang in the middle between the m42 and the m1 (although the M1 is about 5/10 minutes quicker for me to reach) if you're going to take the m40 I'd strongly suggest turning off on the a42 at Donny park and going that way. Much quicker.

Also the roadworks on the m18 don't slow you down much at all, so I wouldn't worry too much about that. Possibly 5 minutes at the most on to your overall journey time. South of Leicester I've no idea about the current state of the m1 re roadworks, it's been awhile since I last went south.

Coming from Leeds and will probably risk the M1. Leaving pretty early, about half 6 so hopefully motorway will be quieter being Sunday morning anyway.

Pretty much the same for me - but likely to drive a little further and then jump on a bus

M1 isn't that bad. I am qualified to say as I have done it 3 times in the last 10 days and at least twice a month prior to that, roadworks around Sheffield are a bit annoying but they are moving.
