I'll be honest and say I didn't think Nigel Pearson was capable of getting a team promoted to the Premier League, but well done Leicester. Will he get more than a dozen games in the PL?
I agree. The turnaround this year has been astounding really. Not sure what has made the difference but they've frigging crushed the league.
Rather have a game with a bit of needle in it, where the crowd is up for it form the off, than a nothing game with no atmosphere.
That must be the worst way to get promoted. On a day when you're not playing, thanks to a combination of results. Foregt Wembley in front of 87,000 people or at home in front of a capacity crowd, they'll have heard about in B&Q, the shed, walking the dog, being texted by a mate etc
They are also the oldest club of those currently in the Premier League. Incidentally of the 12 founding members of the football league 1, Accrington, went out of business and the other 11 still have the same name.
yea congrats to lesta for promotion- just been on their forum and I gotta say some seriously deluded comments on how they will do next season- I understand the post coital feeling of euphoria and the universally expected 6 points from the tigers is de rigueur but some foxes fans are gunna come back down to earth with a bump next season. . Whilst their championship exploits are commendable its important for Nige to pullout some gems in the summer market place to be competative 14/15!
Agreed. No matter how well a team has done in the Championship, you can't expect the same team to flourish in the Premier League. (Not that I'm saying they definitely won't.) Look at Cardiff - yes, they spent a lot of money, but two of their three big-money signings have done well and still the team has struggled. NP will need to have a good look at his squad and decide where the weaker areas are likely to be.
Looking forward to this. Although, in honesty, I think if NP is backed, he'll have a decent chance of keeping them up - he's bound to make more positive signings than bad. Burnley and the other promoted club (notice AFC B are creeping up) will surely sink. But that said, how many PL ****s said exactly the same thing about us last year? All in all, in my opinion, the Championship has been a very weak division this season. I'd expect, given some of the clubs coming up and who are likely to go down into it, it'll be a much harder division next season.
Congrats to them. By far the best team in the Championship this season. Looking forward to renewing the rivalry and the banter with them next season.
Burnley could end up like us lsat year. With Vokes and Ings out, their big gap could be closed down and just about scrape over the line.
Well done Leicester. I hope Wigan and Burnley get promoted. They both only 30 minutes from where I live.
