My thought exactly. Dave King cannot invest money outside SA, as part of his agreement with SARS and the SA government to keep him out of jail. He and his family have agreed to wind down his offshore investments as part of the same agreement.
His wealth is on paper and restricted to SA by and large. The nature of his companies, advice on tax avoidance pertains only to SA. The decline in the rand v sterling offsets the increase in his companies share value. This explains why he is being clever with word saying he will FRONT an investment.
Gough says he trusts him with his life.........yeah Richard, but what about your wallet.
TRFC are in a very dark place. The crucial period was the IPO when wealthy TRFC fans could have bought out the barrow boys like Green etc, the Del Boys of the financial world, instead of placing the club in the hands of institutional asset strippers who have no interest in the club of football, but perceive it merely as a vehicle to make cash out of till they realise the assets. The wealthy TRFC fans investment never materialised, for reasons best known to themselves, possibly to do with Deeds of Novation, Deeds for Property and assets or Contingent Liability.
End game. Most likely TRIFC seize the assets and lease them back to TRFC, but this does not help TRFC establish a team which can compete with Celtic.
TRFC fans have to be very careful what they do to avoid killing TRFC. It is possible that TRFC will never compete at the top level for league titles etc. The era of sugar daddy's in scottish football is well and truly past IMO.
