It's time we had a "stickwise" gamble on a Sunday again and I have just the horse for tomorrow.

NETHER STREAM 28-1 Market Rasen 2.45 has a number of factors going for him. His recent runs have been on unsuitable ground. The last time he had his ground he was on a mark of 108. His three wins have been off 99, 99 and 103, tomorrow he has been dropped to a mark of 97 and has trip and conditions to suit. If you are not convinced factor in the jockey booking of Noel Fehily, if that's not eyecatching enough for you then I am wasting my breath on you.
I reckon he will be the subject of a serious punt so if you agree with my ramblings then get on early!

Good work today old boy. Good luck tomorrow.

Back on the wagon, save my money for the Derby.

Anyone been to Epsom for the Derby? Grandstand enclosure? How is it, will I be appalled?

Apache Stronghold 11/4 will be warm order here in the Fairyhouse 3:50 on his return after missing Cheltenham with an abscess on his foot. Noel Meade has been very upbeat about this lad and thought he had one to 'go to war' with Mullins with, but unfortunately he missed his clash with Briar Hill due to injury. If fit to go, he will win, but their is some useful sorts lining up in the shape of Lieutenant Colonel and Renneti and they won't have to be asked twice should Apache Stronghold misfire. I will trust that Meade has him ready, as he has done right by him so far and I think Carberry will get the best out of him to win.

I also like Martello Tower 2/1 Fairyhouse 5:55 who look's a very smart prospect. He ran well over hurdles after a long lay-off last time out and was just getting the hang of it again late on when flying home suggesting the run was much needed to blow the cobwebs off. I expect he will be stripping much fitter for that and with a few more weeks work under his belt he may well be the one to beat now back in a National Hunt Flat race. Measureofmydreams for Willie Mullins should be favourite and give us a nice price, but hopefully it will be Mags Mullins who will be collecting the winners prize and not the usual combo of Willie and Paddy.

    Hello lads.

    Quite like Mitebeall Forluck 2.40 @ 12/1 e/w 2.40 Fairyhouse.

Typical Arthur Moore improving type who could go close here now that the penny is starting to drop.

Won very snuggly two runs ago and was given a little too much to do LTO before running on well at the death to finish fourth.Only up 1lb for that and he looks well handicapped off 113 with more improvement almost certain.Be disappointed if he isn't at least placed in a decent little race.

Expect there to be money for this.

    GL all.

    Nice double today Stick.

Also gone for a Lucky 15 as not overly confident, gives me a bit of interest after 18 holes...

    3:40 FL - Material Boy 10/1
    3:50 FH - Lieutenant Colonel 6/1
    4:10 FL - Rev It Up 14/1

Hasn't stopped raining in Ireland for 20 hours if racing goes ahead it will be as boggy as boggy get's. Just a heads-up if your having a punt here.

On a positive, it is brightening up and supposed to be a decent afternoon :emoticon-0148-yes:

Nether Stream is in the first bonus race. The other one is the 4:10 Ffos Las. KING OF DUBAY is seriously well treated if he comes back in form from a two year lay off. We have seen it so many times before. The handicapper has given him a real chance.
BET365 were 25s last night but the odds are tumbling now. I have yhem both in singles and a ridiculously optimistic each way double!

    Cheers Humans.

I've laid a good chunk of mine off now just in case he doesn't handle very deep ground...into best priced 5's from opening 16/1.

I saw that DD. Just wish it wasnt raining as that could scupper his chances.
Honeyball will win the last mate but Hendersons will take all the beating in the penultimate in my opinion.

Interesting that only a total of seven Irish trained horses contested the three novice and one juvenile hurdles at the GN meeting.

Obviously the timing of todays meeting at Fairyhouse is the reason with a G1 mares event and two G2's which are cracking heats.

Willie Mullins runs ten spread over the three graded races yet didn't travel a single beast to Aintree.

Maybe the BHA and Turf Club should consult more over respective calendars?...

I don't believe there is any dialogue currently re scheduling.

Looking forward to the return of the mighty Maarek today at Cork. Evanna McCutcheon has now gotten herself a trainer's license (was effectively trainer last year but ran under the name of Barry Lalor) and I'd say she'll be looking to get a victory on the board today. 7/4 seems a very fair price but he's not a lump jump or anything like that.
