Some Wessies call it a teacake, someone I follow on Twitter(a Leeds poster from here) was arguing with loads of people last week about teacakes not always having fruit in them.

A tea cake is a little chocolate marshmallow with a soft biscuit base.

What kind of moron is that man?

    Leeds fan - question answered.

A sarnie is sliced bread, if you want a cob you ask for a cob. Saying what type of cob you want avoids having to have another exchange with an old witch behind the counter.

Teacakes always have fruit in. If not its just a breadcake + or - toasted.

Its a breadcake in Hull. Ask for a cob and you will just get looked at funnily.

The rest of the country is just wrong.

I bet you don't even have chip spice on your chips.

That's a chocolate teacake. Different to a teacake.

Obviously not born or residing in Hull which begs the question why is he on a City forum?

Even if he wasn't born in Hull but his parents were and moved away etc he would still have known and probably used the word breadcake as he would have been influenced by his parents as all children are. His total confusion at the term breadcake insinuates absolutely no connection to our fair city at all which begs the question again, why is he on here?

Just had a chicken Tennessee burger in a seeded breadcake in Weatherspoons, so it'll be a small salad for tea.

Big baps, small baps, soft baps, crusty baps - many different varieties but they're tits not bread.

What music thread are we having tonight?

Dinner is the midday meal. And only that.

Hence why you have dinner ladies at school.

Dinner is the main meal of the day. So if you're having a Sunday roast, that's dinner. If you're having sandwiches for lunch and going out for dinner at night, then the evening meal is dinner.

    It's either/or.

Breadcake, I don't think I've heard anyone use the term in person, what actually is a breadcake?
