1-0 Everton, Stockdale OG. Not really his fault that it went in, but he was at fault for the goal. Came out for it and didn't make it, then scrambled it into his own net on the way back.

  4. Good result for Everton.

Play Arsenal, next, in a massive 6-pointer for 4th. If they win that, I think Arsenal will be relegated to the Europey league, with us.

That'l wipe the smug grins from their silly faces!

  5. Winston Wolfe: People saying Arsenal should "appoint" Martinez... Why leave a club that will be in the Champions League for one that won't be?

That's someone who'd be banned instantly by the Arsenal board's anally-retentive mods!

Tottenham v top 4 this season:-

    P8 W0 D1 L7 Goals for 2 against 27 Pts.1.

Doesn't this make you wonder why we are not fighting Fulham for bottom spot!!!!!?

We may have to change managers but someone will have to help him with players who have the desire and talent.Something very bad is going on at The Lane......and it's very scary!
If it's the Europa League screwing us up then we'd better let Man U overtake us,the sooner the better!
We need a leader at the back and a goalscorer....just for a start!......not to mention a change of coaches.
    Lord,when we're bad..........

Looks like a straight fight between Utd and Spurs for 6th place. Whoopee-do.

  9. The only consolation that I can possibly take from today is the fact that Mousers up and down the land will now be filled with even more delusions about "winning the title" than they were before.

I don't know why we were so bad, or why the players looked as if they couldn't give a ****, but the fact of the matter is that we never looked like we wanted to compete. That was as inept a Spurs performance as I have ever seen, and I was at the match at which Hoddle got the sack (v Saints)!

We made 'Pool look like world-beaters. Boy! are they in for a massive shock when they play £ity!

They have been emphatically below Spurs in the PL for the past 4 seasons.
So you can see the "small club" joy at beating us this season.

Spurs have conceded 44 goals in the Premier league this season, Liverpool have scored 20.4% of them

We only lost at City due to a linesman's error. City will be no shock for us.

Surely we should not be discussing Liverpool here. They're not our rivals any more :(

Lets talk about Utd and Southampton. I think Utd will get us, can the Saints too? I'm only ruling out newcastle because they are on a run about as piss-poor as us

Surely Europa League is a very tasty prospect to be honest. Winning that gets a CL spot, and to be honest getting 4th is just as hard as winning that minefield of a competition

Personally i'd like to be in it again, even without the CL carrot. Its good practice for a CL campaign, which is our goal despite how far off we seem to be from it. If we can't do EL+4th then we shouldn't be in the CL. Next year 'Pool will have CL "distraction" and fatigue so you guys might come back towards us a tad. Although you might spend (which is what we should have done a few years back) to negate that.

The sad fact is that at the moment we don't look like we could beat a 5-a-side team of pre-schoolers let alone a prem team. Utd have picked up a tad and southampton will win at least a couple of games. Its in our hands though, and on paper our run-in is fairly easy

City have scored 25% of them. You lose! <laugh>
45% of them were down to stupid defensive errors.

We should definitely want to be in the EL. We need a manager who is happy to work with a squad big enough to cope with 4 competitions. That's what all the successful clubs do. Playing a weakened team and losing isn't the right thing to do at all as it affects the club morale. I think Wenger's main mistake is not picking his strongest players in the League Cup.

And I don't think we should exaggerate how bad we are: it was only last week that we beat Southampton and we are really quite likely to win most of our last six games.
