Every saturday my mind tends to wander to previous city games at some point, obvious ones been wembley, arsenal away, spurs away, leeds at home when parkin scored etc. But today I ended up drifting back to my first ever away game, torquay away, the first and last game my dad took me too and of course Ashbees absolute blinder, which remains to this day the greatest city goal I have ever seen.

What was your first away game? Could be an interesting insight with the various aged people we have on here

That goal on here was the post goal of all time, where's DJ when you need him....

Can't remember my first away game it was a local one think it was Lincoln or Scarborough very unsure i was about 7.

First time was a 3-0 pre season win at Donny, I think it was when we'd just signed Craig Lawford, but can't be sure. The first away game would have either been a 2-0 loss at Rotherham, a 1-1 draw at York or the loss at Huddersfield in the electric Yorkshire cup final or something, I think 4-2 to them.

Mine was about 1970 at Huddersfield and we lost 2-0 if i remember correctly. I had a Lambretta scooter at the time and took my dad, who did not even like football let alone follow City. Somehow I persuaded him to come with me, it hissed it down on the way back and we got drenched <whistle>

and who is this original lambretta man anyway? :emoticon-0172-mooni

O/T
Had my first Lambretta in 74
Most of mine have been cut downs or chops.
Converted to vespa late 80s
Though I did have a couple of lambrettas in the 90s for a couple of years before going back to vespas . Love me love my T5.

3-2 away at Sheffield Utd was my first away game on Boxing Day 2010.

Had been to plenty of home games years before this (2007 4-0 demolition of Southend was my first City game) but that strangely was my first away game.

Never been away.
Never actually seen City live in person.
But from 2008 to 10, and again this season, I listen whenever I can on RH.
I was one of the 1700 though.

Actually, can't honestly remember first away match.
#worrying
Might have been Sunderland in the cup mid-70's?

Think you are wrong on the score against Huddersfield. 1969/70 season they got promoted and we drew 2-2 at their place. Remember that game as me and a mate got escorted, rather heavy handedly, back to the station after a bit of a fracas and a copper had to wait with us for a service train as a guard wouldn't let us on the special as we had not gone on it.
Season before we won 3-0.

Have you been drinking? We've just got rid of one mentally unstable bastard, we don't need another one

I can remember a few early games but not sure of the relative timings. I think my first away might have been at Lincoln around that time when, for some reason, they always used to get all violent at us in the streets pre and post game.

There was a few York away's on boxing day's gone by that my grandad took me to. My first away day with my mates was Huddersfield the season we got out of div 3. We lost 3-1, I think Jon Stead got a hat trick for them and Forrester got our consolation.
