Every saturday my mind tends to wander to previous city games at some point, obvious ones been wembley, arsenal away, spurs away, leeds at home when parkin scored etc. But today I ended up drifting back to my first ever away game, torquay away, the first and last game my dad took me too and of course Ashbees absolute blinder, which remains to this day the greatest city goal I have ever seen.

What was your first away game? Could be an interesting insight with the various aged people we have on here
 
I went to a few friendlies at places like Harrogate, but my first 'proper' away game was the 2-1 win at Barnsley in 2004. That fat little Irishman scored in the 88th minute.

Cambridge United away, god knows what season. Whittle scored and we won 2-1.

I'd have liked to have gone to an away game before I was fourteen, but my dad preferred a piss up with his pals whilst wee Erik was left watching Ceefax <laugh>

Bizarrely, that was my first away game too. David Hirst got a hat trick and I seem to recall it was the first game after we'd sold Richard Jobson.

Yeh stan was in charge. He got sacked on New Year's Day after getting beat 5-1 away at Portsmouth. Which I was also at. Probably my worst ever away game. Anyway bcc i know you in real life.

Rotherham early 80's think we lost but loved that low roof. Second game Blackpool, couldn't believe some locals in away terracing at 2.15 looking for a scrap with the flaskers from OSC.
 
65/66 season.....Mansfield away.....Thanks dad...
It was the first season my dad agreed to take me to games having nagged him for about a year.

I remember we won .

Looking forward to the 2115 / 2116 season and making it 50 years ....

I think mine might have been Mansfield away too, but in the first half of the 80s and I think we lost something like 2-0.

When were you born, 29th February?
 
I can't remember the first but It'll of been around 1980/81. Old Show Ground (4 each on my birthday, 3 for Marwood), Turf Moor, Bramall Lane, Saltergate, Leeds Road (hammered), Oakwell (hammered) & Valley Parade are all early memories
