Have any of you guys seen his prediction for us this week? What a nob. "Taking a point at Arsenal was a good result for Swansea. They only need to win a couple of games to be safe - and I think they will. Wilfried Bony has had a good season there. He's not had fantastic service - but he's been a definite plus point for them. It was a great win for Norwich against Sunderland last week. They played extremely well. Their home form is decent but I worry about them away from home. They can't seem to put two good displays together and I think they're still very much in the relegation dogfight. I don't see it as a six-pointer. You can only win three points, it doesn't matter if you beat Chelsea or Cardiff." Has he not looked at the table lately? We have now played the same amount of games and we are 2 points better off?! WTF? Why does he fear the worst for us in the "relegation dog fight" and is convinced the Swans will be ok? It just doesn't make any sense. He must make this **** up most of the time.
agreed it's total bollox you can however see where he is coming from with our away form he's also got a hard on for Palace merson predicts a swansea win and if they do that they are safe. so that implies we would need 1 more point to be safe, in his opinion
I thought it was pretty odd too, but I guess I can kind of see his logic, even if I don't agree with it. Swansea's fixtures are pretty reasonable, with the visit of Chelsea and a trip to St James' Park as hard as it gets. To get a couple of wins in their 7 remaining games shouldn't be too hard. For us, we've got 3 good fixtures then several tricky ones, so a couple of poor results would hinder us more. Where I disagree though, is that if he thinks 36 points is safety, we 'only' need a win and a draw to stay up. WBA at home is obviously the crucial one, but should that go according to plan, a point in either of our reasonable away fixtures should see us safe, with 4 games left to mess with the big boys.
Why we have to discuss his ramblings every week is just beyond me and even worse, spending time trying to make sense of them. he is a dick, best to ignore totally.
Once you boys have achieved premiership survival after your next 2 games how about lending your support to our promotion push!
Well I for one am hoping that you make it to the play offs. And I will be following your progress if you get there.Would like to see you knock QPR out.
I prefer it when Lawro backs against us. I feel uneasy whenever he speaks kind of us or tips us to do well.
I know what you are saying.Just unsure whether it would be wise to ditch a manager who has led us to survival twice when we were amongst the favourites for the drop.

TRUE Their home form is decent but I worry about them away from home. TRUE They can't seem to put two good displays together and I think they're still very much in the relegation dogfight.TRUE Don't really see anything to get wound up about, all he's saying is Swansea are a better team, he expects them to beat us (I assume its his prediction) which will put them ahead of us. Hardly a stretch of the imagination to come to the conclusion he has.
Is this the shirt covered in dogshit in one of the classier areas of Ipswich? You can tell because there is only one layer of steel fencing in the background. Generally these fences are manned with armed ******ed locals with teeth growing out of their ears.
So the fact that Swansea have 2 less points than us does not put them in a relegation dogfight then, having played the same amount of games than us? This is what I was getting at. He sees a team that is worse off in the league than us a virtually safe, yet he sees us in relegation dogfight? So if on paper Cardiff had a better team than us or Fulham then they would be more likely to stay up? For me it's about a love in for Swansea, he has the same for pulls at Palace. Also, let's not forget they have also changed manager this season which in my opinion and many others was a bizarre decision at best, they didn't even have a replacement lined up and ended up giving it to Garry Monk. But when Cardiff did it, it was weird and wrong, same as Fulham and WBA. The guy just has his favourites.
I see where you're coming from Kemp - certainly on first reading. I often think, though (with perhaps undue generosity for Lawro) that these excerpts are heavily edited. They often look like incoherent sentences chopped together from a longer commentary. For instance, all Lawro needed to say here was add at the beginning of the Norwich section "they are also only a couple of wins from safety, but..." And then it would have been much more balanced. As Carrabuh points out, each of the sentencs in isolation is correct. It's just the construction. But then Lawro also talks like this on MotD - short comments which are slightly ambiguous, and can easily be inferred the wrong way. His sarcastic and dour tone don't hel, along with the fact that he is not photogenic. I do think he has undue bias towards certain teams, but is season I've often thought his comments on us, if taken objectively and not thought of as from him, are spot on.
