Maybe I've missed something, but not heard anything definite for months now about the proposed expansion to the CCS. From memory, I thought there were supposed to just over 5,000 new seats over the Ninian ready for the start of the 2014/15 season? I was told back in September that Borley had been charged by the board to oversee this project through, and that work would commence well before the end of the season. Not much of it left now - only 3 home fixtures left. Whether we need it or not might be the question - has Tan put it on hold dependent upon which league we're in next season?
They've started the expansion on the Ninan stand. Think you can buy season tickets for it next season too.
Think it's going to be well over 5,000 seats - it looks quite impressive now, after seeming to take ages to get the foundations down for the main support girders, they seem to be putting it up pretty rapid like and will definitely be finished by June. It looks like it's going to be a hell of a way from the pitch if you are at the back of the extended Ninian Stand - though anything would be better than the view from Planet Pluto at Wembley. Can't see the new higher roof helping with the atmosphere, but we will definitely have the best ground outside the Premiership - even if we are in the wrong division next year. Fair play to Tan - no messing about with this one, job done.
Well that's bloody embarrassing - just saw your replies this morning. Sorry guys and Nat - I must spend more time in Cardiff.......... I always come straight off the link road and park up in an old friend's business premises in Hadfield. I walk straight to the grandstand through the retail park - haven't been round the back of the Ninian or driven down Sloper for ages. I'll have to get out more. (and apologies to Mr. Tan)
It is necessary for the Europasuper Cup final or whatever it is called this summer. If they were not hosting that then I assume the project would have been cancelled given the probability City will be entertaining the likes of Blackpool & Brentford next season.
Sparkey, you make a small mistake and they eat you for breakfast! Or as they say in Wales..."you shag but one sheep!"
