The fair was never a problem for the Council.

http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/Spor...stadium-sale/story-13417465-detail/story.html

"Mr Geraghty, portfolio holder for leisure and culture, told the Mail the council must protect the interests of all the people who use the stadium and enjoy Hull Fair every year.

He said: "We wanted to clear the air and explain that we have no intention of getting rid of the KC Stadium or the fairground.

"We believe the land is traditionally for the fair and there is no other place we can put it."

Why can I remember **** from 2011, but not what I had for breakfast!!

Forget what Geraghty said, he's a grade one cock and he doesn't run the council, they're happy to move the fair.

No they're not stop bullshitting. If tg was happy to go into print then Brady would be with your post. All he has said is he would put it to a referendum on the stadium, the rest in your meeting was just glad handing.

Brady and Johnson want the site developed, I don't really care if you believe it or not, but the opportunity is there.

Maybe they have moved with the times. I was told shortly after the meeting between Geraghty and Assem Allam that Hull City Council wanted a joint venture on the sports village and that the fair wasn't a problem. It now looks like the sports village may well become a reality in the same place Assem Allam wanted it. We'll see what happens to the fair. I don't think we'll be waiting for very long.

I get sick and tired of people putting Hull down. If a suitable venue where found/built I see no reason the Baftas could not be held here. It was not so long ago that Daniel Craig was looking for property in the East Riding. We have also just come in the the top ten places to live in a Times survey as have the East Riding. Now with the Siemens announcement the area is on the move so ****ing stop putting the place down. That is the one traite I loath about local people their negative attitude

100% agree with this:emoticon-0150-hands

Any new conference facilities/hotels need to over look the Humber - let's use our great City's biggest asset.

The eastern end of St Andrews Quay is derelict and then the Lord Line building can also be utilised.

The old lockgates area can be made into feature or something......

"Hull to host the BAFTAs". Isn't the subject title jumping the gun a little?

"Hull City win the FA Cup" is nice too but a bit early.

Well said Sir.

I have already started looking for a suitable dress for the occasion.

Much as I'm all for talking up the city and having some ambition, the idea of getting the likes of Tom Cruise to rock up in a place without a single 5 star hotel is a bit of a stretch.

Not to mention having to be drove from Leeds-Bradford or Manchester to get here.

Exactly - and you can add a major airport to that too.

It's not "putting Hull down" to say it's not a realistic Baftas host city. I'd say the same thing about Leeds, Birmingham, Liverpool, Bristol, Glasgow and even Manchester.

There's as much chance as me winning a bafta as the bafta's held in hull

Allams a so called dictator to some? maybe he can get on the phone to putin for some advice on how to annex Leeds n york :emoticon-0116-evilg. Genuinely though i would hate for the international community to see some parts of Hull eg the main routes into the city center.
