A few fancies but nothing that I would really go overboard on, minimal stakes!

I have had my eye on JOLLY BOYS OUTING 18-1 Towcester 3:30 and he has slipped to a pretty handy mark. He is a standing dish round here so knows his way around. Recent ground conditions have not been in his favour and the more it dries up the better really. Should be ok on good to soft and can run a big race off his new mark!

There are some nice looking types in the bumper with some stamina laden pedigrees on show. The one that I am interested in is DAWSON CITY 5:00 Towcester tissue 12-1 who showed up well in what I think was a pretty nice bumper on debut. This track is definitely going to suit Polly Gundrys gelding and I expect it to go pretty close.

Over at Taunton the one that that catches my eye is SPANISH OPTIMIST 10-1 3:50. I just think he is better than he has shown so far this season and the booking of the in form Dickie Johnson really catches the eye!

The horse I was going to buy looks interesting tomorrow. Tresor De La Vie runs in a handicap chase off 94, he won a point and jumps his fences really well apparently. I wouldn't be backing him, but at 11/2 he does seem to have his best chance tomorrow. Also he is a grey, so you will be able to spot him!

Did I hear right that the commentator at the Curragh called the winner of the first juvenile race the wrong name throughout the race?

16:20 Taunton - August Hill

(Should be suited by this fast track and, hopefully, the decent ground conditions. Distance probably ideal for her. Jockey Richard Johnson in terrific form at the moment. One negative is she'll have to settle a bit better than she has done previously. 7/1 generally available at the moment).

Did anyone see the interview with Dean Ivory? Lancelot Du Lac (ITY) seems one to follow in sprints on the AW at Lingfield or Kempton

AOB talking about Australia. "Hopefully I won't make the same mistake as I did with Camelot and race him on soft ground". What a f**king tosser. Just how many blatantly obvious mistakes has this bloke made, and admitted to?

Well let's hope he doesn't make the mistake of running this one on soft ground. <steam>

Two at Taunton I like today at fancy prices. Two small eway singles plus an even smaller eway double...

3:20 - Obistar 25/1
4:20 - Noble Friend 20/1

Your definitely right to go against the favourite watt broderick swan watt run a big race 2 days ago and as you say it will be about the settling the 88 day break worried me though but it looks a race for a big winner! Thats why I went for superciliary at 40sew by far the quickest over the distance just hope super has a super day. Good luck though mate as your on a hatrick

The problem racing has got - http://www.theguardian.com/theobser...y-walsh-missed-the-racing-point?commentpage=1

How on earth do the Guardian sport reporters (especially their brilliant racing ones) feel when such diatribe is published?

Every now and again we get one of these articles from the media. Paraphrasing and taking words out of context to suit there arguments. It's ironic that the author puts
Walsh was later asked if another horse understood it had won. “No, it’s an animal.” No doubt the supermodel-style diet of a jockey encourages grumpiness, but doesn’t the sport's insistence that horses “love” to race and to win, imply they get the concept of victory? They can't have it both ways.
when they wouldn't dare to publish or put their name anywhere near an article about the thousands of animals that suffer when they have their throats cut and they bleed to death for a horrific amount of time in the name of 'halal'. How's that for having it both ways?

speedy bruere in the 4.30 for me. well backed today 7/2 - 9/4 now.. and my luck seems to have rolled over to today so I'm gonna ride this bitch till it stops!
