I'm looking to take the kids camping in May, but want to ensure that I don't go and book up on the weekend of the final.... just in case! :)

I thought it might by useful to post up the potential dates for this year - albeit that I'm making a massive assumption here (that we don't go up automatically! <laugh>)

So here's what I found:

Championship Play-off Semi Finals
Provisional Dates
Thursday 08 May 2014 &#8211; Saturday 17 May 2014

Last year this was confirmed as:

1st Leg &#8211; Thursday - 6th vs 3rd First Leg (Evening Kick Off)
2nd Leg &#8211; Sunday &#8211; 3rd vs 6th Second Leg (Lunchtime Kick Off)

1st Leg &#8211; Friday - 5th vs 4th First Leg (Evening Kick Off)
2nd Leg &#8211; Monday &#8211; 4th vs 5th Second Leg (Evening Kick Off)

I expect SKY and BTSports will have a say in this, together with the police, etc.

As far as I can find, the final itself is confirmed:

Championship Play-off Final
Saturday 24 May 2014, 1pm to 4pm, Wembley Stadium

So it looks like the best weekend to go camping is before - Friday 02 May through bank holiday Monday 05 May! Sorted. :)
 
Last year championship final was a Monday but this year it's a Saturday due to world cup. I imagine that means semi final games are earlier for championship teams.
 
Sku you have the Sunday 17th down as a date? Saturday is the 17th, I don't mean to be pedantic but is the game scheduled for the Saturday or the Sunday? A lot of shift juggling maybe needed here.

Thanks QPR999. You are right. I have corrected this.

The provisional dates published are 08-17 May for the completion of first and second rounds.

That said, it is only provisional and will be confirmed nearer the time.

Just one thought - I cannot think why they would not consider the Sunday - so it could very likely move.

You beat me to it nine's.

It is not a pedantic question as it would make a big difference to travelling arrangements etc. What a birthday I would have if we were to be playinmg on sunday 18th!

I suspect though that one game will be on the saturday & one on the sunday & we won't know which until May 4th.

Just seen the reply from sku. A possible problem with being played on either the saturday or sunday is that there would only be a few days to distribute tickets for the final.

I have checked several reference points and the only one I can find that is confirmed is the final. Scheduled for Saturday 24th May.

Ok mate. I assume ST holders will get first dibs on extras so will happily sort you out if that's the case. Obviously will have to play it by ear but would think that'll be the case....We have to get there first :)

A lot of if and butsas well...and I wonder if ticket bundlers will get a dib too, this ticket bunbler for a number of years...is still having no joy going to Bournemouth in April yet!..

No prob Stainsy...I will just keep plugging away...will go to Box Office on Tuesday and try looking pathetic, and see where I get

I hope if (and hang on it is a huge IF) IF we get to Wembley, there should be enough tickets for nearly all (78,000) capacity...but tickets for the semi-s that will be real difficult (home and away), hen have more teeth!!
