Are any of the current Spurs team good enough to make our first 11?

Who and why?

Bale - better than any left sided player at Arsenal
Modric - Quality
Van Der Vaart - Up front with RVP would be quality for your lot
Dawson - Just the sort of defender you would need
Lennon - better than Walcott imo

<laugh>

Nice to know my words are getting to you, Sirfiret.

If this is about Modric, then all I'll say is:

It would depend on formation:

If it was 4-3-3, then no. I would prefer Wilshere, Song and Fabregas in midfield, with Nasri, Walcott and van Persie up front.

If it was 4-4-2/4-4-1-1, then possibly. Walcott on the wing, Modric and Wilshere in central midfield, Nasri on the other wing and Fabregas as an AM/Supporting Striker and van Persie up front.

If it was 4-5-1/4-2-3-1, then yes. Song and Modric reveling in deeper roles, with Walcott and Nasri on either wings and Fabregas as an AM and van Persie up front.

All this being taken into account, we would have to rotate the squad around a lot, especially depending on how the opposition's style of play is, which players adapt better to different circumstances and personal preference.

If it's about any of the Spurs starting 11, then I'll do a quick player comparison between the teams and SOME of the players.

Szczsney > Gomes
Sagna > Corluka
Koscielny > Dawson
Djourou < Gallas
Clichy < Assou-Ekotto, last season. When both are on form, Clichy wins.
Song < Sandro, because Sandro was more consistent. When both are on form, Song is much better. Song wasn't that good towards the second half of last season.
Fabregas > Modric
Nasri > van der Vaart
van Persie > Defoe
Chamakh < Pavlyuchenko
Arshavin < Bale, again based on last season, but when Arsh is on form, he's better than Bale.
Bendtner > Crouch
Walcott > Lennon
Wilshere > Kranjcar

You think too highly of yourself.

However, looking at your convoluted list there are just 2 players you would rate higher than ours (taking into account your form caveats) and they are Gallas over Djourou & Pavlyuchenko over Chamakh.

Interesting.

Lennon better than Walcott? u must be drunk...

v. der vaart is not better than cesc or nasri, so no. i wud say bale only because he can play at LB instead of clichy

Bale is average and would not make Arsenal's first 11.
Modric might - but he is going to Chelsea <laugh>
VDV - not good enough - lazy and doesn't perform consistently. Top talent, bad attitude (we don't want nor need another one of those)
Dawson - possibly
Lennon - <laugh> Walcott is far better

I know Bale was ridiculously overhyped by the media, but that does not mean he is an average player. Would definitely have him over Clichy.

I try to get the answer from Spurs fans about ' Why Bale hasn't linked or shown interest by any of the European clubs this season'?

That shows how average player he really is.

sandro started the season badly, but improved immensely, whereas song started well and then fell away towards the end. song is still better, but in a few years time i don't think that will be the case. and no, i'm not a tottenham fan in disguise

Messi hasn't been linked with a move to anyone, does that mean he is average as well?

There was loads of speculation about him earlier in the season. Inter were rumoured to be preparing a 40 million bid if I remember right.

In response to the original question - No there not

Szezny over gomez def - we've already got rid of one liability
Tommy V is by far a better player than Dawson and
Sagna is the best right back in the premiership
As a LB clichy is better than him and we dont play a left midfielder and i dont think bale could play in a left attacking midfield role that nasri and Arshavin play
SANDRO???? OVER SONG???? - You need a good hard look at yourself in the mirror....
i would take Nasri/Wilshere/Fabregas over modric everyday of the week - regardless of the formation
And I would have RVP play upfront on his own instead of having all 4 tottenham forwards....

If your entire first team is better than ours, please explain why we finished above you?
Even after our mentality was completely destroyed after the CC final and even after we were fatigued by the fixture congestion's and surfeit of domestic cup replays, we still finished above you. Rather comfortably as well, might I add. <ok>

Face the facts - we are better than you and we had a much better season than you, which, even by Arsenal's standards, was distinctly average. Whereas it was one of your better seasons last season.

Last season epitomises why we're a much bigger club than you and why we are established as a domestic force and you are not. <ok>

Well Said :D

I think they are fairly close in quality, they are very similar in all aspects. Both are quick and inconsistent.

Walcott scored 13 goals last season, Lennon scored 3. I think that says it all really
