Manchester United boss David Moyes on Robin van Persie's injury: "It doesn't look that bad, he's a had a knock in and around the knee area, on the back of his knee. He was great, not many people score a hat-trick in the Champions League."

Really?

Rub a £ 50 note on it, works better than the magic sponge for him. He'll be right as rain

Man Utd still had less possession and less shots, at home, than Olympiakos

Moyes' main good decision was to play Giggs, though who knows how free that choice was

I've made my #moyesshouldsstay thread on the United board if anyone cares to chip in <ok>

Only reason Giggs was good today (credit to him still) is because the opposition allowed him to do his thing, when they play the other big sides, they won't allow Giggs the space nor time to play his game.

True but strong signs of regression bringing the old timer back into the first team after trying to use the new, young players and relying on him to run the show. Same old Utd. One day old yeller will need taking out behind the barn and shooting.

Must do the confidence of cleverly and Kagawa the world of good knowing they are second choice at best to a 40 yo.
Ferdinand looked unfit too.

oh don't you worry same as scholes the time is well past for giggs. LFC fans know the truth of the standard of olympiakos having had a sighter. At best they are a lower half prem team and most likely would be more fulham than... oh stoke... for example.

Credit to utd. If LFc back in the day could boast about beating lowly olympiakos to reach the next round in 2005 then so can utd.

The difference is... can utd park the bus like we did v juve and chelsea?

The timing and quality of Gerrard's winner has made it a famous goal. No one will ever watch replays of van Persie's goals since they all just went straight through the inept goalkeeper.

We have a bus but its an open top one :(

Great result last night, hopefully keeps Moyes in the job for at least another year
