Please, God, let this not be true! http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...ur-david-bentley-heading-back-to-carrow-road?
He has the ability but his attitude stinks. I very much doubt Lambert would touch him with a barge pole.
I just saw this and was about to post the link. Who next ? I know, let's get Dixon Etuhu and Yousef Safri back, if we're trawling round trading on past "glories". I wish these twats who start this crap would find something realistic and tangible to bore their readers with
It says the daily star was reporting it, well the last time the daily star published this story was 22nd may so there proberbly just a bit slow!
A Bentley costs too much to run And easily runs out of gas, When taken out too much for fun To impress the fair local lass, Too big and cumbersome too To manoeuvre or park by a wall, And if damaged, the cost of new Parts is just not worth the overhaul. (I´ll believe we´ve bought one, when I see it in the garage)
Bentley was going to Newcastle in January but when agreeing the deal demanded he was in the team every week, then when he went to Birmingham decided not to play one game (against Wolves I think). Stay clear I'd say.
We had him for a season already...we won't be going back there. The guy is deluded, he's had one good season and still seems to be living off the hype of it. He is wasting his talent warming benches around the country whilst picking up a big fat pay cheque. Either way, Lambert wouldn't touch him with someone elses.
Listen up guys, this is how it goes: If Lambert decides to buy him, then he's the right man for the job. End of. ILWT.
For once, I don't agree with you CS. This guy is totally the opposite of the type of player Lambert says he's after and I'm sure his wages are ridiculous. He could very easily disrupt the harmony at our club. If Lambert did move for him, it's be the first mistake he'd made since he's been here. Well, apart from tinckering with the formation and playing 3 at the back...that was a mistake but he admitted that and changed it back quick sharp.
That's a totally fair comment and I appreciate where you're coming from, but I have complete and total faith in PL to sign the right man. If tomorrow Lambert announced we'd signed Alan Smith, Joey Barton, David Bentley, Jermaine Pennant and Freddie Eastwood, I wouldn't give a sh*t.
yeah ok, fair enough. Thankfully, I don't think it'll happen. I'll support Lambo whether he makes the right decision or not - so I can take your point. What I like about him is that he's not afraid to admit mistakes and change it up when needed. Worthington was so bloody stubborn that even when somethign wasn't working, he'd stick by it just so he didn't feel he'd lost. Looks like he's still doing that now.
That's most definitely something we can all agree on, and to be fair, I wouldn't want to see Bentley at our club, I think he's arrogant, overrated, and overpaid; however if Lambert says it's right, then I have faith.
