On our board, there is an interesting (well I think so anyway) thread about preferences for other teams in the EPL. http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/253804-rank-premier-league-teams-according-to-preference Just put of interest, do any of you have any 'likes' and 'dislikes' towards other teams.
In my view, all teams below us are jammy devils who have no right to win games, especially against us, and all teams above us are cheats who have bought success. It saves having to change your opinions from season to season.
I do have a soft spot for Norwich....stems from a game where they brought a load of yellow and green balloons and other inflatables, including a canoe (crocodile, not sure which). They knew they were going to get beat, but were determined to have a good time. Anyone remember the details of that, because I can't...may have been a cup.
I remember Southend doing that on the day they were relegated. Maybe there were two inflatable crocodile incidents! To answer the question, I have always disliked Liverpool and Man Utd primarily because first one then the other won practically everything as I was growing up. Over the Man Utd period I have thoroughly enjoyed Keegan's Newcastle, O'Leary's Leeds, Wenger's invincibles, Chelsea's gatecrashers, Reading's no respect approach and Blackpool's plucky stint.
Other than Everton, I dislike teams that play in blue - what a coincidence that the Skates and Rangers happen to play in the same shade.
I generally like Arsenal and, to a lesser extent, Liverpool. I dislike Man Utd and at the moment West Ham (to be fair that's more about Allardyce than the club)
Over the years i have always found Liverpool fans the most appreciative towards away fans, including this season when we won at Anfield. Large numbers of both Liverpool & Saints supporters were drinking together before and after the game - and loads of them came up to us in the Stanley Park area after the game to say how well we had played, etc. Much different to when we drew 1-1 at Old Trafford and the attitude of many Man Utd 'supporters' to us in the streets outside afterwards.
I like Brighton and West Ham, for reasons that pre-date our recent "positional rivalry". I hate Manchester United, because they dominated everything for a while. Also hated Alex Fergeson's whinging, and now I hate Moyes' whinging. Hate the fans because they are mostly glory hunters.
Like Swansea because of their playing style, and their fans are a good bunch, despite being welsh. Liverpool I like under Rodgers, but their supporters still annoy me as they think they have a divine right to everything and they have too many pundits on the TV. Can't stand West Ham or Villa. Norwich are a friendly club, and have a good set of supporters who are quite reasonable, but I just find them so boring and unentertaining.
