Levy's one of those who needs a real kick up the backside before he starts to work properly. He spent his first few years trying to curry favour (appointing Hoddle, bringing in "big name" Santini even though Arnesen said Jol was the guy to take us forward) before settling on Jol, then he got carried away with the DoF system (allowing Comolli to undermine Jol and waste vast amounts of money) before scrapping the system, he got rid of Harry when he was getting to big for his boots at the expense of the club, and rumours are saying that we're scrapping the DoF system, which was only implemented at AVB's request, at the end of the season.

I'd rather we didn't waste a season and countless millions before we woke up, though.

Levy needs to learn to stick with either a manager, aDoF or both. We need some consistency and stability and we're not going to get it from our playing staff.
Assuming that Sherwood's on the way out in the summer, then we need to bring in a suitable group of staff, sort out our scouting system (though we may have just done that) and get the coaches right.
The idea of Freund taking shooting practice still fries my brain, frankly. It's ludicrous.

Villas-Boas got a fair amount of things wrong, but we didn't help him by surrounding him with inexperienced staff that weren't familiar with the league.
The only problem with getting in a face would be that you'd risk undermining him further, if things were to go wrong. A Carlos Quieroz or Rene Meulensteen would be angling for the main job, for example.

Waking up would entail realising that there's a common denominating factor in virtually all of the **** ups over the last decade or more - a certain Mr Levy!...

As far as I'm aware, Levy doesn't spend much time in the UK as he believes he should, so having a DOF has always been his ideal system as if he doesn't have a DOF then he would have to be more involved outside of other aspects of his business.

Just it won't have gone unnoticed that the four years under Redknapp, was his, and ours most successful since he joined us, in terms of league progress and I'm pretty sure he often sits there watching games regretting certain decisions he has made, yet Levy doesn't have a "sidekick" someone to rely on for good advice, unless you count David Pleat as someone who offers sound advice!

Levys intentions are good, he wants us to be a success and wants us to be top four and wants us to be stable but until he has someone to offer him sound advice then I just see a repeat of previous mistakes until someone like Redknapp or Jol comes along and puts their stamp on the club but no doubt they will be sacked because someone is in Levys ear telling him its time to try something different.

There's also the feeling the DoF is there as a buffer zone to deflect blame away from Levy.

Damian Commoli. That's keeping things both on and off topic.

He got pilloried for his signings, but many ended up coming good at both Spurs and Liverpool.

Don't see the point of a DoF all the same.

I would say its enjoyable to watch you struggle, but its such terrible football that nothing is enjoyable about your performances.

I almost feel bad coming on here now!

Such a promising season has absolutely wilted.

The players are melting under pressure and the team is rudderless.

Can you tell our manager that, please?
Hang on, Algeria? You're not Sherwood are you? His kid plays for us and them.

  15. Be careful, young Mousers, lest you scoff too soon!

If you finish in the top 4, you are going to face the likes of PSG, Athletico, and Celtic. Humiliation awaits.

I'm sure you will make a better job of strengthening then we did (aside from Vdv) although you may want to find a scout who can recommend better players then Aspas and Sakho!

See your point Boss but IF we get a CL place we could attract better quality players and afford to shop at Harrod's instead of M&S.

"We're not making assumptions like you guys did"

Did we assume we would get out of our group top of the pile at the first attempt, beating the
defending champions along the way ??

I do however remember loooooooooaaads of comments from Sky 4 supporters
about what would and wouldn't happen in Spurs CL campaign ...
