I'm not sure we've ever had all of them fit at the same time, to be honest. Might be decent if they got a run of games, but it's unlikely to happen and our fullbacks aren't great at defending, anyway.
Because he's very one footed? Kaboul deciding to take that specific moment to do his shoelaces up didn't help, though. https://vine.co/v/Mq5n9Ax92aW
So Vertoghen is very one footed, crap in the air, gets done for pace, has a crap attitude on the pitch, makes simple errors and his positional play is suspect. Apart from that hes a good defender.
Vertonghen doesn't want to be here anymore and that's enough for anyone to not perform well. He's been excellent in the past, but recently, he's looked like a different player. It's probably clicked with him that nothing is going to change at spurs, so he wants out. I don't blame him to be honest. However, he's paid a fortune and needs to give more, before he finally gets his move.
He must have a high opinion of himself, as we have seen far better players then him give everything for this club, even when we have been in a far worse position, so if its the case he isn't interested in staying then I hope he moves on, yet much will depend on who is our next manager, as its looking more unlikely Sherwood will stay on and a big name manager may change players views. Or we could bring in Van Gaal who has a history of falling out with players and get rid of a few of the current duds.
The only thing of note yesterday was the timing of the mistake, not the mistake. Making schoolboy errors a few days after press gossip that you want to be playing CL football is embarrassing for the man, but nothing more.
Disagree mate...he has been poor for a while...he was exceptionally poor in the 6 nil match v city and since then has been average at best
The galling thing is, that Vertonghen "the wrong 'un" will move to £ity or 'Pool and suddenly become a world-beater.
Kaboul and Chiriches for me. Vlad is very like Vertonghen but with better attitude. Dawson to cover Kaboul.
Yeah, basically I'd agree with this. I've said this before, but you can almost see players like Vertonghen, Paulinho, thinking " this isn't what I was promised, WTF am I doing here!"
Perhaps if they stopped pissing about doing that and starting paying attention during games, then we'd get the results that they seem to think they "deserve" to be getting? This season's been a balls up on many levels, but that doesn't give players a free pass to start whinging, especially with the World Cup around the corner.
Yeah, I've just about had it with Vertonghen, his form and attitude have been **** for a while now. If we can screw a big transfer fee out of Barca or some other mugs in the summer then I won't miss him.
And they should both know that spurs fans are thinking...this aint wot we were promised after spending millions on these players...wtf are they doing here
I can half agree. I don't like Vertonghen's attitude one little bit. But, I can also see that he, and others, were sold a vision of CL football, and a title challenging team - that has been far from the case. They are disillusioned, and rightly so. But yes, Vertonghen's attitude sucks!..
They were signed to deliver CL football, not to receive it as a right. They are the reason we are out of the running for top 4. They owe the club.
