Ah, but Archie, our Irish stars were never tinkers.

Well, Keane probably was (and is), but by and large I think our Irish players were gentlemen, and not the gypsies and tinkers that played for Arsenal, or 'Pool. Ours wouldn't know what a "gypsy enclave" looked like (or loike).

Except for Keano. Probably.
 
I would add, that my father was an Irishman, so I know what I'm talking about. Especially since he, himself, was a tinker, and I am the son of a gypsy.

Whilst I'm not a massive Huddlestone fan - he blows too hot & cold for me, he's a far more intelligent player than Henderson, who has little to offer apart from energy and enthusiasm. But thank you for your usual inane contribution!...

Ballyfermot has what you would call, old school working class character and has been there a long time, whereas Tallaght (where Keane hails from)was developed in the 70s/80s as a 'dumping ground' with 1000s of social welfare houses. The council making similar mistakes like when they built Ballymun in the 60's with tower blocks.

I was on the wind up Archie, I know Dublin well(got mates north and south of the river), whether he's from Ballsbridge or Tallaght doesn't make him a better or worse person though.
I use to drive down to see family in Wexford and remember the "keep Dubliners out of north Wexford" graffiti in Wicklow on the way down there, is the policy to stop Dubs buying property in Wicklow still going, I remember people in Wexford blaming that for the large influx of Dubs down there.<laugh>

<ok> Fair enuff mate, wasn't trying to sound bitchy, just relaying some useless info.

As for Dubs and property, that ship sailed with the economic crash. Developers were conning people with tags such as, 'Wicklow, the gateway to Dublin', charging fortunes for substandard houses and the banks handing out 100% mortgages. Now they're up to their tits with debt living in a house worth half what they paid, and spending 3+ hours in traffic going to and from work.....if they're lucky to have a job.<laugh>
 
I keep repeating that name....Ballsbridge (Not Stamford Bridge of course,but then again......).
Was this named after someone named Ball or.......?

The area is named after Balls Bridge, a three-arched cut stone bridge built over the River Dodder in 1791. Development began some fifty years later, when the Earl of Pembroke leased out his vast estates in the area and large red brick houses were built for upper class families. City politics at the time gave Ballsbridge its exclusive air: Planning regulations at the time decreed that houses for the working class were restricted to Irishtown and Ringsend to the North East of BallsbridgeOne arch for each of the Welsh Earl's testicle's.

Love that gorgeous old pub! My wife used to tell everyone I collect pubs.Very true some years ago but not into that anymore,I'm sorry to say.....

Its a fair response. gerrard is aging, (but you have to have him.)
Sturridge will be playing I would have thought.
It scares me sometimes to think how far Sterling is from being the finished article - he is going to be a beast when he is.lol
Henderson has had a brilliant season for Liverpool and has convinced us. But he is going to have to do the same for England to convinve other fans.
Johnson hasnt had the best of years. Take Johnson and Walker and you have youth and experience.

Let's face it, Little Luke, we're both ****ed by the fact that we each have ****e managers.

Both United and Spurs are going to be on the wrong end of embarrassing spankings.

The only thing I have to console myself, after we get mullered by Arsenal, is that it ought to be the final nail in Sherwoodie's coffin.

I beg to differ. If Sherwoodie had not put himself forward he would not have been offered the job. Also, he made a big noise about "not wanting the job short-term," and practically threatening to walk out if he wasn't given a decent contract.

So, yes, I do blame him. Sure, I blame Levy, too, for being such a cheapskate that he actually gave him the job. They both ought to go, in my view.
