Get over it dude....new season new rivalry. We're focusing on Palarse and you should probably focus on Pompey. Wil be good to see the contrast in footballing styles again though.....our beautiful game against your....well....i'm not really sure how to describe it....let's just call it different ;)

Good luck to you as well.

you should have seen brighton's footballing style at st mary's though. they parked the bus and didn't attempt to play football of any kind.

I was there. One game does not a season make. We were pretty poor that day and still should've won. We weren't great in the first half but were the better team (of 2 poor ones) in the second.

You however, were long ball then and long at our place. I know where I'd rather be this season.

As I said, get over it!

if you have a subscription to your clubs premium tv service, log onto the southampton one and watch the extended highlights of the match at st marys between our two clubs. if you think you "deserved to win" you are insane.

look at the stats, we absolutely dominated from start to finish. and bear in mind one of your shots on target was the missed peno haha!

I think everyone knows that the BBC stats are bullshit.

I can only remember a few chances for you in the first half that were realistic opportunities to score. That fact that you had more shots according to the stats means very little as the stats don't tell you the quality of those chances. Casper had very few saves to make. Speculative pokes or shots that are pass backs count in the stats but don't mean you were going to score.

It would seem you played pretty well that day, we on the other hand were in our so called slump in form.

Which is why I said we should have won. For all your huffing and puffing you couldn't score and when a team gets a pen they should score it. I never said we were the better team over the 90 mins or that we would have deserved to win. But we should have won.

I guess you were also in a slump in form when we beat you at your place? Oh no wait, that was because your players were tired from celebrating, oh no wait one more second, it was because we just lumped it forward and you couldn't cope? or maybe Gus was too busy swooning over the hundreds of pictures of Adkins he has all over his house to give a proper team talk?...whatever excuse it was, and I'm sure there are many...Brighton....Graceless in victory....Graceless in defeat.

No. At our place you wanted/needed it more. We were already champions and you can not deny that takes the edge off a teams intensity evidenced by the fact we also didnt beat Hudds or Colchester.

And why would Gus swoon over Adkins. A guy who is a very one dimensional manager, who despite significant resources struggled to get you up. I can guarantee 100% that Gus will manage at a much higher level than Adkins and the only picture of him gus would have in his house would be the one on his dart board.

Are you honestly saying you are not a long ball side?

And I'd rather be graceless than trophyless ;)

That's what I'm honestly saying. Equally, I wouldn't claim we got out of the league by playing teams off the park every week either, we mixed it up when we had too, something I believe will stand us in very good stead for the coming season. I saw us win by passing teams to death and by lobbing it up to Rickie....hardly the work of a one dimensional manager, that's at least 2 dimensions right there ;)

Gus loves Nigel, It's only a matter of time before it becomes public knowledge, at least that's the impression I got from all of the attention Gus payed to us after you'd deservedly won the league....either that or he's the Baddest winner to ever walk the planet.

As for a trophy-less season....wrong again, the runners up get one now so nobody feels left out...awww.

Q From Pete Jones, Brussels: I have always known the saying as all mouth and trousers. But Matthew Parris recently wrote in The Times about the tendency of the Conservative Party to use soundbites such as ‘All mouth and no delivery’. He said: ‘The phrase (surely?) is all mouth and no trousers. The Tory grip on gritty northern folk truths is uncertain, and there may be some mental confusion with all talk and no action or even all fur coat and no knickers’. Can you shed light on the subject?

A The form with the negative is certainly common. I can’t give you chapter and verse from direct experience, though I know that the BBC television programme Last of the Summer Wine — firmly based in Yorkshire — has always used your form, all mouth and trousers, as an effective put-down of a certain kind of over-confident man.

In the Cassell Dictionary of Slang, Jonathon Green is also quite sure that the expression should lack a negative. He explains it as being a pairing of mouth, cheek or insolence, with trousers, a pushy sexual bravado, a fine double example of metonymy (“a container for the thing contained”).

I think Matthew Paris, like others who don’t know the origin of the expression, is trying to make sense of it by adding the no. And the other idioms he quotes are persuasive in supporting this faulty interpretation. It’s a lovely phrase, though, as good a put-down as anyone could want (all the better for being slightly obscure), and it’s one that ought to be preserved pristine. Eliminate the negative!

Idiom Definitions for 'All mouth and trousers'

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Someone who's all mouth and trousers talks or boasts a lot but doesn't deliver. 'All mouth and no trousers' is also used, though this is a corruption of the original.

Looks like your arrogance got in the way of the facts, AGAIN!!!
