Southampton have nobody to blame for that result except themselves. They carved Liverpool's defence open time after time, but their finishing was appalling.
There was one spell at the end of the first half when they just kept attacking for about 10 minutes with little in reply and they created so many chances, but didn't really test the keeper.
If you do that against a side that's scoring a lot of goals and playing confidently, then you're going to lose.

How poor was Gerrard, though. Utterly anonymous for about 90% of the game, then pops up to grab the headlines at the end with a penalty! <laugh>
Maybe he's played too many games this season and he's suffering from burnout?

You should be happy that Liverpool beat a Spurs rival that could challenge you for 5th place <laugh>

  4. He's definitely a wum, but certainly not "world class"! He's dreadful.

In fact, he's so bad that I believe he's a United supporter pretending to be a thick, juvenile, arrogant, delusion Mouser in order to get them a bad name.

I cannot get it out of my head, but I even see him sat at his computer dressed in a dirty, stained shell suit and worn, dirty trainers, his mop of tangled, dirty curls dangling over his forehead, a half-burnt cigarette smoking in the ashtray next to him, and a can of Tenant's Super Strength lager on the other side, tapping away his garbage, but also keeping a close eye on his watch so that he doesn't miss the dole office. Anyone else get that image when reading his posts?

In other words, he's acting so typical of the stereo-typed Mouser that he simply has to be a red Manc in disguise!

  7. Insults are never a nice thing to see, anywhere, especially on a forum like this.

    It's not clever.

  9. What are you trying to say, like?

Every single one of my posts in as absolute gem! I offer pearls of wisdom with my utterances, the kinds that force others to flock and listen. Some people view me as a kind of football guru.

  11. Those young, wet-behind-the-ears Gooners are afraid of my wit, Gerry. Back in the days when I wasn't banned I was infamous for my hard-bitten, take-no-prisoners style. I ended up "owning" so many of their supporters that it became embarrassing for them. The choice was to either (a) ban me, or (b) disband the Arsenal board. In the end, they took the easy (and the wrong) option.

I say "wrong," because whilst they might still have an Arsenal board, it no longer commands any respect; and it will forever be tainted by the fact that it had to ban a rival poster in order to continue its existence. It's very much like modern banking, with what happened to the likes of RBS and Lloyds, and why the Government bailed them out with all our money.

I understand that if Spurs dont make the champions league then Vertonghen may look elsewhere.

I also understand that if that eventuality occurs then Liverpool may be making a bid.

Now I dont think it will happen as the guy is in his prime and will command top dollar and it is more our tsyle to buy players prior to them reaching their full potential.

IF it does happen though, I can see a few tears and foot stamps on this thread occurring.

I understand that Spurs are dire this season.
I am waiting to be informed as to how ****e a team is, to be only 6 pts above them in the PL.

You couldn't afford him and there will be bigger and better sides putting in bids.
We can always take a leaf out of your owners book and just ignore contract stipulations, as well.

I agree, if he goes it will be for circa 25 million i would have thought. I cant see us paying that and wouldnt want us to, (others will though.)

Was interesting reading comments from Henry about Suarez contract, very impressive i thought

He admits that he disregarded a clause that was triggered in Suarez' contract. Sorry, I thought people knew about this:
    http://www.express.co.uk/sport/foot...uis-Suarez-s-buy-out-clause-after-Arsenal-bid

I think it's only fair that the Premier League dock you any points accrued in games that the Uruguayan's participated in.
    Very shoddy behaviour.
