I didn't get to see the game today but just watched a clip of the incident, and how ANYONE can say it's not a head butt is astonishing.

Quote from Robbie Savage on 606 as I heard it in the car "It should be a 10 game stadium ban, he's just head butted him for wanting to get the ball!"

And this is Soccer Saturday's opinion on the matter: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BhGUpVCW84I

If you're ever to be "head butted" and recieve a blow equal to what Pardew has done then you can count yourselves lucky.

They've rubbed faces, if that.

What's a manager whose team is winning 3-1 and who are safe in midtable, getting involved in incidents like this for?

He's been sent off not for caving in someone's cheekbone with a headbutt but for initiating a fracas in which he was aggressively posturing and making contact with his head.

The feller's got history.....a touchline liability. Wenger, Pellegrini etc

Has he initiated it? Has he ****.

Meyler comes rushing in and nearly pushes the man over. I'd say he's entitled to his reaction and although he shouldn't have put his face in it's hardly a headbutt is it?! <laugh>

I can't work out why that is considered worse than a push. Both handbags, should be swept under the carpet.

f**k me what has the world come to.

Handbags at dawn.

I've been head butted, a few times, and it tends to smart a tad.

That wasn't a head but.

What a load of bollocks, it's an emotive game and two grown men have had a minor spat.

No more, no less.

On the button.

He blocked/obstructed Meyler retrieving the ball, old boy.

Pushes him over <laugh> I sit about 5m away and he tried to block Meyler getting to ball so Meyler pushed him to the side with his eyes on the ball. It happens fairly regularly at football and the player never gets booked. Pardew was the one that initiated the head to head and then the one that nutted Meyler. How the **** can you try to blame him for it.

It was an absolutely blatant head butt from a manager with a history of losing his cool. Should be at least a 6 game ban.

Why don't you take your stupid brain dead opinions elsewhere. You are either blind or completely clueless. Stay on your own bloody board. No doubt we'll have enough of you boring us all to death in the Prem next season.

I'm just saying that Pardew has done next to nothing wrong and people are acting like he should be hung for it.

Handbags between both Meyler and Pardew. Nothing more, nothing less.
