Eight hours behind here so a 6.00am kick off for me. Born in Boldon, lived in Cleadon Village and went to school in Seaham. Played for Roker Boys (when I had hair...lol). Moved here in 1996. Sister lives in Penshaw...shes coming over here next week armed with PG tips and Bisto gravy. Not be able to sleep tonight. Was at Wembley in 73....we need to get through the first 20 minutes tomorrow and settle into the game. Hopefully like 73 get the goal we need because as we tire it's a lot easy when your ahead. Need a little bit of luck...as you do against the top teams. It's fate & destiny. Gus is a tremendous manager...it would be a fitting reward for what he has done since he took over if we can win. Enjoy your posts.....FTM

    Cheers fella.

Sweet. What you reckon to LA? Miami has always intrigued me. The Art Deco buildings, pastel colours and colourful foliage draw me in. Opposite coast I know. There's some cracking tea on the market at the moment. Twinings and Clipper are the bees knees. I've not slept at all. Stomach is going ten to the dozen with nerves.

I think we need to hustle them from the off, if they settle into the game before we get a goal it could spell big trouble. Big big game for our centre midfield as Citeh tend to attack down the middle despite the Etihad pitch being bigger than wembley. We could do with exploiting Citeh's sluggish back line, defo a game for Borini's runs. Apart from that I'm struggling to come up with anything that could be effective. They're only good aren't they?<laugh>

LA is certainly a different culture to growing up in the North East. California is huge. You can go from skiing up in the mountains to lying on the beach within a couple of hours. The weather here is beautiful. We actually had a bit of rain today which is great as we only have had one inch in the last eight to nine months. It was getting pretty desperate for some. I know what you are saying about Miami. I enjoy those aspects too. When your working here you can speak to someone in New York whose three hours and then someone from Hawaii whose three hours behind. The enormity of the place at times is mind boggling. Thanks for the heads up on the teas!!

Huge game for Catts tomorrow. I hope he takes Silva because he is more of a threat than Toure to me. With Toure you know he is going to run at you so if we share the fouls out against him we can stop him in his tracks. Silva is the man who can open a tin of beans so Catts has to be right up his *ss. Colback can take Toure like he did at the SOL. Got to keep 11 players on the pitch though. I agree about CITEH at the back. We need to get Borini in against one of those center backs. That's where I feel we can win this. Just been watching the semi again at Old Trafford. If we go 'balls for glory' we will be fine but if we sit off them we will get taken apart.

See you from Darlo...played at Feethams at a few times with Crook, Durham and Ferryhill....yeah I know more clubs than Gary Player...lol. Enjoy the game and hopefully tomorrow night we can all sleep well <cool>

Hi LA from the world wide mackem brethren net. Lets have a session of hands across the sea for the lads on this brilliant occasion.Visited rellies in Santa Barbara and was over your way in 2012 and notice how many soccer (international expression) pitches at UCLA. My biggest hope is a goal from Jozy as I can see USA producing some decent players in a few years time with SAFC top of their choices. or maybe ES already has that covered.

Great to here from you Nostalgic!!!!! It's just like we are disciples spreading the good word of Gus to the world....lol. Yes soccer is the word that used here....still can't get used to it though. UCLA 20 minutes away and Santa Barbara 50 mins. Beautiful place SB!! Would love to see Jozy come on tomorrow and score the winner right in the last minute. Hopefully some legends will be born tomorrow....geetings to NZ..... <cool>

Feethams has been flattened out, the cricket club too, seen many a Darlo game back in the 90s, surprising how fulfilling a rainy Tuesday night playing Runcorn is. Must be a relief that the standard of footy is improving in the states. Get to many games?

Enjoy the game fella. Dare to Dream and all that Jazz. :D
