The back end of the season looks really congested already with 13 games in the last 2 months, If there are any weather cancellations in Jan Feb or good cup run there isnt much room to fit rearranged games in. Still We showed last year that we could cope with a heavily loaded run in so maybe thats in our favour.
I'm missing the first four matches!! - hopefully a full house to start the season with Leeds in town ...... and a festive derby match
Jingle bells, Jingle bells, Jingle all the way, Oh what fun it is to see Southampton win away, Hey...
I don't know if they have done it on purpose or if it was was totally by accident. But it seems to me that they have placed the 2 pompey games (17th Dec and 7th Apr) at certain times of they year when people may be on holiday or low on money to try and price them out of going. Maybe it's just me, I dont know. I think Sepetember will be are hardest month. Forest and Birmingham at home and then Burnley and Cardiff away. This will be a testing month, If we managed to get 6 points out of the 12 I would settle for that.
I still can't decide if it's a good time to play them or not, with everyone excited about the big day just 7 days later!
doubt it, think of the amount of derbies this year, theres no way they could arrange all of them like that.
Very happy with that, good, exciting game on the first game. Although, we all know how Saints start the season.... West Ham games under the floodlights twice - gonna be a brilliant atmosphere. Wanted an away game on 27th August as I'm at a wedding and got it, so very happy Can't wait now!
Afternoon Girls.............considering your recent track record against us......home and away......some of you seem rather confident at not only coming up to the championship, but beating us before chrimbo at ours, and then relegating us in april! Me thinks you girls have a rude awakening come mid sept and you have not won a game BP
In my opinion Southampton has just much of a chance as Leeds do! Yes on paper it does not look great , but football results are not made on paper ...its made on the field!...and that's what Southampton will in their heads throughout the season. Journalist and Sports pundits will voice their opinions on the upcoming games will do their prediction...doesn't mean they are right all the time! Prime example: Who would have thought Wolves was to beat Man Utd last season?? Who would have thought Newcastle would have come back from 4-0 down?? Nigel Adkins will have already been aware of this and therefore with the right attitude and taking 1 game at a game like they did last season I think we should be fine! Not many will favour us to be promotion challengers ...either way we have to go and fight in this league if we want 3 Points I would like other teams to see us a Dark Horse and fear coming to St Mary to grind for a result So for me ...No not disappointed. Let's have a go and a bloody go at that and make the NPower Championship sit up and take note of Southampton! We can win if we believe and work for it! ...With Nigel on the sideline and THE RED & WHITE ARMY at SMS all around ...Saints will be fine!!! COYR!
Dont you be worrying about our squad numbers.......its all in hand. New owners, new squad........good feeling at ours just now. You wil need to make a good start in this Div or its all over before its started! Good luck any hoo, Oh about the comments on relegating us at yours in april by some of your mates........it could just be that the shoe is on the other foot eh? BP
There's no way we'll get relegated this season. No way. Just cos Pimpey have just got Norris (old guy) doesn't mean you should be feeling confident...
Did you know that fielding less than 11 players for a match incurs a hefty fine from the Football League. Enjoy!
3 points from the first game, home to Leeds, will boost our confidence no end. It's about time we started a season with a win. COYS
Well if Leeds play like they did last time against us at St Marys then we'll be fine. Although, if we have the same referee that we had on that day (some of you may remember) then we won't win. My Nan could have reffed better than Peter Walton that day.
