Racing today from Ludlow, Taunton and Thurles over this sticks and 2 "All Weather" meetings at Kempton and Southwell.

We're starting to see some "soft" in the going descriptions (as opposed to blanket "heavy") - the first signs of spring??

Best of luck to all those venturing a wager today <ok>

Morning, crew. I trust that everyone on board is well.

Hope everyone savoured Mr Henderson's Vodka N Tonic, as advised, yesterday. Good, good. People, may wish to know that tomorrow its Mr Henderson's Cocktails At Dawn!

Meanwhile, let's have today's Cheltenham quiz quest. Which leading, and I do mean leading, trainer has to date in his career had 77 runners at Cheltenham (this stat includes non Festival races) and had just the one winner???

Can anyone surprise me and get the above answer. Good luck with that and everything today, troops.

    Hello lads.

Nothing takes my fancy today...as yet.

May be of interest to A.P. devotees that he travels to Ludlow for one mount in the 3.30,Brass Tax.This one looks a likely sort on paper but hasn't run for a while.

    GL anyone having a pop.

Correct, Dex. Excellent. You win today’s ‘Barney Bonus’.

Was totally amazed by that 1/77 stat when I read it.

It’s no longer Cocktails At dawn tomorrow, I’m afraid. Mr Henderson has pulled him out of Newbury as the ground there still remains unsuitable for him. I’m assuming, providing the ground conditions ease, he’ll now go straight to the Neptune at the Festival – his owner sponsors the race so will be ultra keen to see him contest the heat.

I got that email too Dex, and first thought - great! Then you start to think about it a bit more .... if you think Irving is a good thing to win, then he is surely going to be in the places (unless falling, which can happen to anything) so at least you get your money back - although they are 9-4, when Irving is 5-2 with almost everyone else. Same applies to Vatour, but you have to take 3's as opposed to the 4's on offer at Coral or Skybet. Anything else and you may as well just bet ew anyway ..... or am I missing something?

I would imagine you get the win part of your ew bet back so if you back at 5/1 and your horse comes 2nd/3rd/4th you will get £100 returns for your place bet and your £50 returned for the win part of your stake

Agree Reebs....it is a well pitched marketing product.

E/W win parts are also covered and since this is a 3 place (someone bound to go 4 places however) race then that does add another dimension.

Preferred Corals evens on SS last year in the CC or the old PP offer of all bets refunded if X wins the races.

It was relatively straight forward to construct a simple mathmatical model to cover all eventualites. They have since stopped this, not surprisingly!

That is really surprising. Not a good read if you fancy the best animal in his yard - Pendra.
