It's reasonably helpful without being an outstandingly helpful contribution to a question about how to increase the relevance of stats to our understanding of a game. And although if you weren't particularly thinking about it it might appear not to be very helpful at all, in fact it is somewhat helpful in forming an opinion of the poster, given the context in which the question was posed, the scale of possible flippancy an answer may involve, and the contribution the post could have made to a potentially interesting debate. <ok>

Apologies Robbie - I was just joking
 
Fer generally seems to have a lovely first touch but it's the next move that really tells. He'll either immediately run into 2 opposing players and give the ball away or he'll break into space and carry us up the pitch. I felt he produced more of the latter against Spurs, but it meant he was just bringing the play forward more than getting involved in the real nitty gritty of the game. Tettey and Johnson showed so much because they were blocking Tottenham advance, link the play out to Fer or the wingers then one of them would try and get forward. Fer seemed to be the pivot more than the focus of our play so I can see why he wouldn't show as strongly on the statistics side of things.
