If we ever get back to the premiership we'll probably end up paying somebody £55K a week, and season tickets will be between £800 and £1000. Its just the way football is going and I can't see it changing anytime soon.

Those wages are more reasonable for an established top flight side with far more income from TV and merchandising deals. I wouldn't pay that for a Championship player.

If a top player becomes avaliable at the right price and wage then we take him, but as a squad of players I think we already have enough to compete and until January I think these players deserve the chance to prove themselves at this level.

I would like to see a centre back to partner Fonte as Jaidi will be a few months older and Seabourne just doesn't cut it for me. Also I expect to see another centre midfielder as a replacement for Stephens/Gobern...this may well be a loan move.

I think at around Christmas we will all have a better idea of who can carry Saints to the premier league and who can't

Cortese and Adkins are seriously ambitous where our club is concerned and there will no doubt be quality added to to an already decent sqaud.I see no reason why we cant emulate Norwich and go straight up.Adkins will probably be telling the likes of the Hammers and Birmingham that they could go up if they can keep up with us.Ithink there is real drive and purpose now at the helm of our club and you cant underestimate our potential

I'm with you Shiny. So long as we beat our slow start hoodoo, I think momentum counts for a hell of a lot in all the leagues outside the PL. If we start rolling we'll be hard to stop, especially as I have no doubt that a couple of top notch additions are waiting at the next bus stop!

Ricky, ever bumped into big Dave Beasant in the Feathers?

Hotbovril: I've never seen big Dave in the Feathers! <ale> <cheers>

Ricky is obviously the place for retired keepers as David Seaman is often seen in the area!!

Anything below the play offs will be viewed as a failure by Cortese and any astute fan. I have no doubt in my mind that Cortese expects this and will back the team as required, as do we by purchasing a season ticket.

There are no excuses for not getting a ticket if you can. If you can't then you need to get a job. I hear the Refuse department will be looking for staff shortly....

What about if you have a job on Saturdays?

I got excited about the change on the BBC site for about 0.5 seconds. It was at the moment that I realized there's no actual news, and got bored again.

His son worked there with my Mrs and he used to pop in a fair bit. I thought I was the only Saint within a 20 mile radius when I was living in ****eford, sorry, Watford. I obviously should have gone to Ricky for a few jars!
