Nice one, Reebs, very funny thread! There, their, they're, whose, who's the culprit? Each one of us at times, I guess?
On the overuse of certain words, my pet hate down here is 'genau' (exactly). The Germans drive me bonkers with this word; every bloody minute in general conversation this goddamn word pops up!
Another thing .............
People who are highly paid to commentate on or present, sports on TV or radio who can't say the two words "sixth" or "fifth", substituting instead "sikth" or "fith"
Do teachers of English not correct pronounciation anymore? Small children mis-pronouncing words is cute - grown adults using the same words is feeble! And for someone who has to use those words frequently, in a professional capacity is, frankly, unacceptable. You twats!
And ..... another "grate" irritation, TV presenters who cannot say the phrase "HD channel" (for example) without putting an "h" in front of the H of HD. There is only one "h" in the word "aitch" ..... and it's at the end not the beginning! You twats!
Also - what is it that is so compelling about Americanisms, that otherwise English speaking people have to call an areoplane, an airplane? As opposed to what? A wood plane? You twats!

Analysts stating the bleeding obvious esspecially when the sentence starts with "if".. Last night on MoTD2, for example, Danny Mills advised us that if Liverpool had not drawn against Newcastle and lost against a couple of other teams they'd be 4 points clear in the table. Doubtless when he helps the kids with history he tells them that if Queen victoria had not had any kids we wouldn't have had world war 1.
I also get sick and tired of the media always looking to blame someone when one of their own loses a job or gets in trouble with the law. Example - Piers morgan gets sacked because "the Americans don't understand him". I'd say they understand him just fine and he's been sacked because, like 97% of the UK, they think he's a complete and utter fanny spanner.

I'd like to know who the 3% are so they can be gunned down.
An expression I always find strange is "I'm not being funny but........". In my experience there is very rarely anything of comedy value that follows this. So infact it is correct. What's my point? I'm not sure but it annoys me especially when it's uttered by some moaning work colleague moron.
A bit more on topic .................... peddlers of ****ing "value" when talking about backing a horse. The ****ing thing is 4/7 and I think it'll piss it so I back the ****ing thing. I don't think "hmmmmmmmmmmmm................... is it more of a 4/5 shot or should it in fact be 1/3". And do you know why? Because I haven't got a fecking clue, no one has, the price of the horse is defined by the market and who is backing what. I've never professed to be a "shrewdie" or any of the other names that exist for the mythical creatures who pretend to make a living from gambling- I like a dabble for the sport of it- You pay your money and take your chance, so get to **** with your value bollocks.
Well done on speaking mym mind for me Oddy. It really, really pisses me off. If you want to back it at 6s fine - bollocks to anybody else as it's got sod all to do with them.
Its simple maths oddy, only way to win at this game long term is to back value every time, 5/4 about a 7/4 shot is a mugs bet.
Its why casinos make money, they give you evens about a 6/5 shot, they cannot lose over time.
The difference in racing is that no man or machine can be 100% accurate with true probabilities, if you put the time and effort into studying a race you come up with what you think the odds are, and if your good then you are accurate enough to see the difference between a 5/4 shot and a 7/4 shot which is about 8%, and if you have discipline you will always bet when the odds are in your favour.
Its a very hard game to be that accurate consistently, but it can be done. 5/4 and 7/4 is a very narrow margin but its the cutoff point I think to how accurate anyone can possibly be, thats why you want to be getting 5/2 or 3/1 about a 5/4 shot, gives you a bigger margin to be right. Maybe what youve got down as 5/4 is actually a 7/4 shot, but you are still on at 5/2 or 3/1.
But the roulette wheel is statistically proven Boris, I can relate to that. But with horses I think there are many more imponderables and random effects (e.g. the horse just wasn't up for it today). Let's face it, bookies price up every race to guarantee them a profit - some more shame-facedly than others. But at the end of the day you still pay your money and take your chance, and I'd much rather have a 5/4 winner that "should have been 2/1" than a horse I'd backed early doors at a value price of 9/2, the thing went off at 11/4 so I got the "value" but the fecker came 4th 
I know what you mean m8, because of all the **** that can happen in racing, its impossible be 100% accurate, but its not impossible to be accurate enough to make money, thats what im trying to say.You get some people who back a horse just because they think its value, like 33/1 about a 12/1 shot, but you still think its a 12/1 shot so why are you backing it to win? The higher the odds, the smaller the margins, its 100% impossible to tell the difference between a 33/1 shot and a 25/1 shot.
I only back a horse if I fancy it to win and I think im on the right side of the odds, I dont back simply because the odds are wrong.
In theory if you keep backing 25/1 shots at 33/1 you will win in the long run, but no one is that good.

Anyways, I think Kings Palace is value at 3/1 for the Albert Bartlett because he flows over his hurdles like water cascading over a rocky precipice and I shall be lumping on him (hopefully at bigger than 3s if Mullins sends a hotpot to the race).
I also think 2/1 Bobs Worth for the Gold Cup is tremendous value - he should be 4/6 when you look at what he's facing. Dutch him with Silviniaco Conti and you've got a sure thing at around evs.

I cant get a read on this Kings Palace Oddy, hes been looking really good and ideal for the race but he has not ran against anything decent yet.
Ive got Faugheen 12/1 and Briar Hill 10/1 in a line with Moyle park, so got the dbl, if Faugheen wins I will definitely be backing Kings Palace on the day.

I love the way Kings Palace takes his hurdles - doesn't break his stride, very economical and fluent, very much like Brindisi Breeze (RIP) a couple of year ago. My only worry is that he will have to make it (doesn't know any other way) so he could be vulnerable to a closer BUT I can't see anything in the field that could still be going well enough to close on him up the hill. I just love the horse and he is a pure pleaseure to watch so he will carry my few euros 
Another pet hate - these ****ing football streams, jesus I want to watch a match on t'internet **** off with your adds about upgrading my video player, playing the latest online game or joining some ****ing dating agency. If you're going to offer a live stream just ****ing give me it, don't ply me with ludicrous ads. Or at least have some humour about it and put up an ad for a bucket of dogshit or something
