Harry Redknapp could quit management over knee injury that's still an issue despite summer op

QPR boss who turns 67 in March and may need further surgery is expected to decide at the end of the season whether to call time on his touchline career

Harry Redknapp will decide whether to quit management at the end of the season – swapping the dug-out for a new job, writes Alan Nixon of the Sunday People.

Redknapp, 67 next month, has told pals that he will review his future in the summer after becoming increasingly troubled by pain in his right knee.

The QPR chief – one-time people’s choice to boss England – had an operation at the start of the season but has still struggled with the injury.

Former Spurs boss Redknapp may need further surgery and that will lead him to re-evaluate his life and career.

Football-mad Redknapp has been a manager for more than 30 years, spanning jobs with Bournemouth, West Ham, Portsmouth, Southampton and Spurs, but he may call a halt to life on the training ground by becoming a director of football or even an administrator.

QPR’s dip in form has not helped, but pals of Redknapp reveal that he has been thinking about his future for some time.

However, the crunch will come at the end of the season when family man Redknapp will decide whether or not to continue life in the spotlight.

Before someone says its the mirror, they had someone on the inside during faurlingate.

Maybe its why he never gets up during a game. Also it would explain the loans only policy.

He knows he's going, he's using the media to promote an exit plan that absolves him if all responsibility.

4th in the league doesn't look too bad from the outside, you have to watch us to see how terrible we are.

The old knee tactic ... what a beauty.

I once had a coke head junior in my studio years back who's excuses for being late hit a classic one day when he claimed to have been attacked by a rook that actually targeted him and kept him hostage in a ditch for over 40 minutes.

As a child I recall once being chased around our garden by a Jackdaw who even followed me into the house forcing me to hide in the walk-in larder.

Redknapp could quit,

The sad thing is while these type of rumours are doing the rounds it really does not help an already bad situation. I voted in the poll for harry to stay but right now like others I really could not give a toss.
