It's fair to question whether teams have adjusted to the system which at least a few experts familiar with Pochettino predicted might happen.
The other issue is whether our team is wearing down. To some extent, that might be due to lack of depth which was inevitable, but we'll have to see in the summer. Maybe we get some new players in or the young guys step up. Or if not, then MP needs to figure out a way to rotate players and get more out of what we have.
And I still think he bears some responsibility for Osvaldo, so we'll have to see what kind of transfer targets we aim for going forward.
I think he has made some mistakes but overall has been very good. But we haven't gone to the next step where we see if he learns from the mistakes or if they were one-offs or if maybe it wasn't Cortese pushing those buttons or if they are a pattern of behavior from him.
Pochettino's only been here a short while, so I would definitely *not* be signing him to a 10 year contract until we see him for at least another season. It's not just a matter of a manager being good or bad, but also whether they fit with the club's budget, ambition, playing style, etc.
I would say the same of any manager in his position really, I've really no serious complaints about what he's done so far. The one thing I really like about him so far is his use of the academy players. I've seen enough there where I believe it's part of his philosophy, he'll continue to do it, and he does it well.
I really can't say anyone on these boards has judged MP unfairly. I think some people have been a bit OTT as far as the Cup loss goes, and maybe arguing too much about things we can't know for sure yet. But I think some people are just naturally more negative/argumentative while others more positive/go-along-get-along and that's more the source of any friction. The issues being raised by those who sometimes question MP are fair ones.
