Yep getting your property smashed up and having whore painted on your drive doesn't help. Didn't he get death threats as well?

He's also really, really old isn't he. I was so level headed and mature at his age! :)

That's OK then, I'll go and punch my colleague and I'll move to a better practice on the same money with no negative consequences. If he truly has an incurable problem he shouldn't be playing a TEAM sport. A CONTACT sport. If this is the case then we can expect a similar situation soon at juve. If not then his sudden Conquering of his anger speaks volumes doesn't it?!

Not being able to control your temper is no excuse. Just as being drunk isn't an excuse. In the real world, he wouldn't be able to get a good job after hitting workmates in two previous jobs. In fact, he would face criminal charges

    P.s. I wasn't suggesting Dani was drunk.

Of course they do, why would you infer that? But continually making excuses for somebody who behaves badly and doesn't learn from their mistakes is very naive. Its how you deal with your problems that matters, not whether you have them or not. I don't know the ins and outs, neither do you, but to absolve him of any blame is ridiculous.

The current team spirit is said to be the best ever, with players from all walks of life coming together and (appearing) to really enjoy their job. I see no reason why he wasn't welcomed with open arms. Poch is a great leader. By all accounts they have a way of nurturing players (look at the academy etc). He didn't enjoy being part of it, got his move.

Before anyone accuses me of being a fascist, unsympathetic or knee jerk I think that people with aggression problems should be helped and have a lot of respect for them when they do cope. But I cannot believe that saints would give up on such a talent and investment unless he were a lost cause or not helping themselves.

I'm not saying it's fine for him to punch people. All I am saying is some people can't help themselves when they are violent etc. How do we know if he hasn't a mental illness? Yes he could also just be a complete twat. But having family members with various different mental illness. I tend to look at things differently.

So you know him? I doubt it. So everything you have written is probably true but you are assuming knowledge about so much that you probably don't know. I apologise if you know him or you know about his mental state.

The irony of my post is the you are probably right about him. He may just be an aggressive t**t, but I don't know that and you probably don't know that. We're just fans forming views.

Ps. Before you accuse me of being ridiculous, can you point out where I have absolved him of any blame.

I also have immediate family members who have had/have mental illness. I myself have had an aggression problem from a young age. It has nearly cost me my education and career, but I have dealt with it.

What I wouldn't expect is that if I were to assault somebody and benefit from it that a stakeholder with an interest in the victim would look on, impartial or with any kind of approval.

No I don't know him. No I don't know whether he has a serious problem or whether he is just a twat. No I don't know the full story. But I have seen no evidence of remorse. No public apology.

Do you think that if this was an isolated incident and he had turned around, apologised to the club, apologised to fonte, that he would not be given a second chance?

All I have to go on is the evidence I see. FWIW if he had apologised I would be very Impressed, was full of respect for puncheon when he turned things around.

What worries me most, is that I'm being conjured up by the sexual part of your imagination.

Disregarding the mental illness 'possibility' for a minute. Generally being aggressive is 'learned behaviour'. For example, it might be something you have witnessed in a parent, or members of your peer group and grow up believing it is the normal way to behave. As such you can be considered responsible for your own behaviour and it can equally be unlearned as learned.

I don't think Dani has a mental illness...it is part of his character and could be retrained out of him. Real grown ups don't think violence is the answer to everyday arguments.

I'm still sorry this didn't work out. If his behaviour means he's really burned his bridges - and I doubt we'll ever know the full story - then fair enough, he had to go. It's a shame, though. Maybe the goal against Man City was a one off, but at the time it looked like a sign of things to come.

Anyway, next season we need a 20 goal a season striker.

Dani has scored again. Scored the 2nd goal at home to Trabzonspor. Currently 2-0 at half-time.
