Wanyama has to earn his place back IMO. Has not looked back to his best yet and cork has done nothing wrong. Lovren is different class to Yoshida so more likely to go straight back in. So my line up would be

Boruc
Chambers Fonte Lovren Shaw
Schneiderlin Cork
Lallana Davis Rodriguez
Lambert

Subs Davis Clyne, Yoshida, JWP, Wanyama, Ramirez, Gallagher

Not bad at all, line up wise. I'd swap Gallagher for Guly though. Maybe Clyne as first choice, but it could be a game more suited to Chambers. I also think Yoshida has come on leaps and bounds this season. Against Aston Villa he was awful, but He and Fonte have found an understanding. Anyone, plus Hooiveld seems to be a tad leaky, I'm afraid.

Why do some of you keep putting Davis behind the striker in 4-2-3-1? 4-3-3 he plays as a right central midfielder. In 4-2-3-1 he plays on the right side of the three behind the striker, with Lallana the central of the three. Or are you saying that is what you'd prefer?

My team:
4-3-3
----------Boruc------------
-------Fonte Yoshida--------
-Clyne------------------Shaw-----
-----------Cork------------
-----Davis----Schnederlin---
---------------------------------
-Lallana------------Rodriguez--
-----------Lambert---------------

Bench: Davis, Chambers, Lovren (/Hooiveld), Wanyama, Ward-Prowse, Gallagher, Ramirez(/Guly)

Cork plays over Wanyama for me. We dominate more with Cork. I'd rather just pick the best eleven and dominate the game, that's why Clyne plays over Chambers too. Clyne is our best attacker out of himself, Shaw and Chambers. He has 4 assists from 13 starts in the league.

Why? I'd prefer to have the West Ham midfielders chasing the ball than us trying to out-muscle them. Surely the way to beat them is to play good football?

^^^^^^^^^ agreed

Will we really risk Lovren straight back in for those who have mentioned it? We'd have to be 100% sure that he was ready for a physical battle. I doubt anyone wants to beat BFS more than me, but I'd hate to give Lovren a set back.

Or, worse, a poor performance that sets the usual suspects on a witch hunt to prove that he's only league 2 standard and must be got rid of.

Well, maybe Yoshida starting, with Lovren on the bench. But Dejan is supposed to be ready to play, or will be in the next day or so. Gaston also.

To be honest, I'm staggered that Ramirez is OK to play. His ankle ligaments must be quite supple. Mind you, I keep forgetting he's only a kid. ;)

Setting myself up for abuse here but does anyone think This could be a game for jos? Bit of height and physicality? Just an idea.

Indeed. That replay looked horrific. Quite something if he is practically fit to play!

To be fair, when Maya was run ragged it was when he was playing out of position at left back. Adkins should never have played him there. That game was a disaster <laugh>

Boruc

Clyne Fonte Lovren (if healthy, otherwise Yoshida) Shaw

Midfielder #1 Midfielder #2

Lallana Rodriguez Davis (Because I really don't think it matters much who is in the right, center or left)

Lambert

Subs: Davis, Chambers, Yoshida/Lovren/Hooieveld, Targett, midfielder #3, Ramirez/Reed, Gallagher

I too am staggered by Ramirez's recovery. I tore 3 ligaments in my ankle exactly 3 weeks ago last Friday at football training. Wasn't even a tackle my ankle just gave way. At the moment I am walking but it is still badly bruised and swollen. I was told at least 10 weeks before I can even attempt any strenuous activity/strength building. So for him to be fit again so soon is crazy! As good a job the nhs has done with me I wish I had access to saints' medical team!
