    Sorry for the confusion.

I was made aware before the end of the season (by my not bullshitting itk) that we were nailed on to sign the lad.

I happened to be speaking to my itk's best pal (who is actually a mag who I went to school with) who said he was talking the the itk last night, who said he still expects us to sign him, but he is not so sure anymore coz o sky4 interest - but they are trying to get him on the cheap, like all sky4 teams do.

The sky4 team is not pool - i do not know who it is, but would be surprised if it came off, which makes me think it might be ManU.

Hope this is clear - not sure if we will get him, but my itk has not been wrong ever - he just never has much news about us.

This 100%, he can change games (ffs his goals at the end of last season kept Wigan up) as has been said steed n 10m would be good for both teams. If they don't want/need Steed then 12m should do it. Lets stop pissing about and bring in the proven quality we need to lift the team/fans.

Man u, arsenal, chelsea, liverpool, and now I guess you can add man city.

The big teams that Sky love sometimes to the detrement of the lesser teams.

We can pay Wigan anything they want £20m, £30m and so on, but if the lad has his heart set on another club, there is nothing that Wigan or Sunderland can do about it.

Well reading between the lines then, it was a cert towards the end of last season. But suddenly with
the big 4 taking an interest we've given up the cause.

So the ITK's get your hopes up only to be dashed in literally a sentence.

True, but at least we can say we made a serious effort to get him, not a half arsed bid and if he goes else where, so be it.

I'm sure that the club are fully aware of how much interest there is in the lad, so I don't think for a minute that they will go in with a stupid offer.

Not a stupid offer, but one that is a fair reflection of his value, reckon 10-12m is in the right area, if that's knocked back then walk away, this sends the message that yes, we have money to spend but we'll be ****ed if we'll be held to ransom. (take note Arry and the spuds)

So we dont offer £10m, and Man u or some other team get him for £8m. Everybody loses - except Manure, as usual. Give the f**k**s a fight for once! Ofer £12M! They want him, they have to pay for him OR the boy invokes some contractual obligation that says "if manure, chelski or Man City come in for me, I can go there". That happens, we all rollm up our carpets and go home. FIGHT FOR F***I** FOOTBALL.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    We got £20m for JH.

£12m for N'Zog seems very fair to me.

100% agree, and with potentially Larson to come in on the right (and hopefully Charlie boy on the left), thats 2 players in (with a hefty chunk of change from Jordans sale)and no would disagree that the team has been improved.

This sounds like another one of Sunderlands failings in the way they deal with transfers. Other clubs seem to name a player they want and the deal is done fairly quickly we have been linked with N'Zog for two years and waste time haggling over a few pounds. If Bruce wants him offer the bloody money ffs and get it sorted before N'Zog has time to think of any other offers.
I also say it again get £15-£20m offer in for Sturridge, I am becoming more and more frustrated as this bloody transfer window goes on. If thats not bad enough now Arsenal are linked with Seb Larsson which everyone thought was 90% coming to us.
I wish i could hibernate untill August
